早期波多黎各人来到纽约等地后发现自己因为英语不好经常被当做二等公民对待，于是
对孩子进行“融入”教育，很多家庭以放弃西班牙语为代价来追求”正宗的英语“ （
很多华人也是如此）正如文章提到的，很多当时移民的心态是：”if you're speaking

但是随着整个拉丁裔族群在美国的扩大和拉丁裔经济地位的提升，现在的波多黎各人越
