如果要过INSPECTION的话，加州好像有规定一定要50%以上 energy efficient的
reccessed light，不能用E26 base的CAN，哪怕你装的是节能灯泡或者LED retrofit灯。
你可以网上查California Title 24。
recessed light有IC和NON IC两种。IC装在insulation下面，在ATTIC里面用。NON IC
的在其他地方用。

按理说换这个是需要permit的，电器无小事。但如果不走permit，可以买最便宜的E26
灯筒，然后到COSTCO买retrofit的LED recessed灯，这样最划算了，连TRIM的钱都省了。

这个问题我研究过，还请教过一个STANFORD SOIL ENGINEERING的教授。这个要看你房
子的构造，比如是砖的吗？砖的可能容易倒，但是可能你的保险又不保砖的那部分。
总体来讲，这个保险没什么用，是扔出去的花销。一般来说那个１５％的DEDUCTABLE是
吃人的，你地震损害的钱一般到不了那个数字。保险公司一般是赚钱的，所以你基本不
会得到好处。做SESMIC RETROFIT大概５，６０００的样子，会大大增高房子的抗震性
，很划算。
当然有例外。你家要是是下行试建筑在斜坡上，那地震来了很可能有毁灭性危险。不过
那时候你真的考虑房子吗？要不要考虑人身安全。。。 |

RESEARCH 在这方面。关键是不贵，就是在地基和房子部分所有的连接出加固，这个最

就那么简单。
当年穷学生的时候为了省钱，专门买没空调的车，接下来买新的压缩机（德州空调坏95

GENERIC了。用来做IMAGE LOADING不如PICASSO， 用来做基本的REST层的HELPER好像也
没有RETROFIT包装得那么好。总体感觉就是没有POLISH得太好，比如说最基本的，都没
个GRADLE／MAVEN INTEGRATION，还要自己把源代码DOWN下来，都不像个正经的LIBRARY
。但是，还是GOOGLE自己的孩子，就用吧，希望GOOGLE能给修剪一下。 |

be very strong due to recent bridge claps. i know in some area companies are
still looking hard to find good structural engineers.

。因此1989年的建筑抗震设计规范生效后所建设的楼房，如果是正确设计及施工的，均
可满足89年规范已经提出的“强剪弱弯”要求，框架的抗侧力（水平地震力）构件的抗
剪能力应可大于其抗弯能力， 在大震（罕遇地震）下应发生延性的（有一定延时的）
弯曲破坏，而不是发生脆性的（突然的）剪切破坏。

的ME同学们补充几点：
job market我也估计会在未来饱和，毕竟positions相对其他方向也不是很多，但应该
不会4，5年那么快。对heavy diesel engine来说，life time很长，emission
treatment device的retrofit是一个很大的市场。tier 4 要到2015年才phase in，而
且regulation phased in了不代表就没market。比如Sierra Instruments Emissions
Systems （http://www.sierraemissions.com/）还再招tier1和tier2 marker sector的in field engineer，pay的高,要求出差多（》=50%）。而tier1到4也只是整个emission
market 的一块，其他的还有highway hdde，marine，locomotive，stationary等。EPA
和carb不会闲者，新的标准会不断出来，比如颗粒污染，现在的 |

到9月份为止，来美国有一年了，本科是EE （Embedded system+ Industrial Control），电子和自动化都接触过一点，然后在国内编程PLC工作了一年。一年前拿到offer来美国读 ME master。 现在暑假在公司实习，明年春天可以毕业。
现在暑假期间就是做project，并不参与这个公司产品的设计，两个projects。都是
retrofiting/ designing cnc machines.就是把这家公司现在运行的老旧手动机器翻新
、重新设计成CNC。（因为这个行业非常的独特和市场份额很小，没有CNC厂家做这种数
控。而我的设计是用PLC控制机械部件运行。但每一个部件都是我设计然后加工的，或者
sub contract。控制部分都是买来的，部分AB,部分automation direct,以前的koyo）
主要是由于自己的一半机械一般电子电气的背景，这家公司才给我的offer让我来做这
个project。project很挑战，从没有人做过相似的东西，过程还是很 |
