很多年前，忘了国内哪个托福培训班的一个老师说了一句话：
说英语就要拿腔拿调，和中文讲得不一样才是。
当时没有理解，后来慢慢体会到了。
中文说起来比较省力（从说话时需要调动的肌肉来讲)，尤其
是北方话，嘴皮子附带一些腮帮子就基本够了，舌头的活动范
围也不需要很大，颌骨基本上不动（除非是大喊大叫）。
英语讲起来，需要调动咽腔、口腔和鼻腔，舌头的行动部位也
复杂了很多，颌骨的活动范围比讲中文大了很多。
所以，如果用讲中文的方法将英文，很多元音和辅音都发不到
位。
提高英语的一个策略就是从最基本的元音和辅音开始纠正。但
大部分中国学生都不愿意在这个上花时间。当然还有练习才是。
找些美国小孩子们看的书，比如Mother Goose rhymes，大声
朗读，坚持几个星期，就能见效（你会发现别人容易听懂你的
话了）。
