hand tools. you can buy those tools in any hardware store, go take a look.
It can use aluminum or steel rivets. It has a stem which will pop out after
installation.
I think the press rivet is a type of solid rivet. It's a heavy duty one.
press riveting should refer to using this kind of rivet. |

Anti-rust is just a minor problem compared to the problem of properly
sealing all the joints. To close the joints, you need either rivets or
welds. Weld is completely out of question because it needs massive amount
of electricity. Riveting is also very difficult because you need to be able
to make uniform sized steel rivets, and able to drill uniform sized holes
to fit the rivets. |

这几天一直下雨，实在不想等自己换了，就把车送去garage换前rotor和pads。
去了才发现，幸亏没有自己动手。
CVPI的一个脑残设计，rotor是用两个rivet固定的，必须用drill把它们打掉，才能卸
rotor，实际上没什么必要。按我邻居的mechanic说法，应该是有些车出厂的设计，这
么看来这车的rotor应该没有换过，可是居然还是很厚啊，不比新买的薄多少，garage
的人也让我留着，以备以后不时之需，由此看来cop car的rotor应该相当耐磨的。再说
这个rivet，mechanic先用钻，后用榔头铁钎，最后总算成功搞掉了。两个刹车换了至
少有三个小时。
同时他们告诉我我的anti sway bar link的bushing和upper ball joint的bushing都不

DC版做的时候我记得他们用了电钻，rivet gun，和用来折角/折边的折弯机
我的理解是如果用螺钉链接的就不用rivet gun

发帖数: 7016 | 31 市面上的普通kayak anchor trolley package包括两只pulley，几颗padeye，几颗
rivet或者螺钉，以及rope。看了这个套装里的东西，特别是pulley，我觉得不如自己
DIY，可以用更好一点的pulley。最后选了Lowes的pulley，BPS买了padeye，trifold
rivet，还有zigzag cleat。
youtube上一般的安装方法是装在一侧，尽量靠头靠尾，但我看到的都离头尾顶端都有
一段距离，因为看到的几乎所有的padeye都是横着装，所以没法装在船头或者船尾的尖
上。
只装一侧有时候会觉得不方便，这一点新手我kayak fishing两次就觉察到了。比如我
有一次想把船的右边拴在树桩上，而只有左边有anchor trolley，这种情况下我得把船
转180度，但转过来之后可能因为风向的原因，钓鱼就不顺手了。
如果两侧都装anchor trolley，按常规装法，得打两套洞，也就是说钉至少要装4个
padeye。
我这个方法，只用2个padeye，竖着装在前后沿上，不会撞着，两侧的trolley可以共用

热压的东西现成的在knifekits.com上有卖，一套将近100，我是找两块木头板，几块泡
沫，叠起来ＤＩＹ的。
做Kydex刀鞘，枪套一般来说需要以下设备：
Kydex sheet，
刀模或者枪模，或者实体
oven或者mini oven，如果做的东西不大，用heat gun也行
heat gun，用来做局部调整
kydex press，就是木板或者铁板夹泡沫用来压kydex成形的，可以ＤＩＹ，我的是ＤＩ
Ｙ，泡沫还没有找到最合适的
rivets或者eyelets，还有setter，
optional:
arbor press，用来set rivets/eyelets，用钉锤也行
drill press. 用来钻孔，用电钻也行
bandsaw. 用来切割，用大剪刀也行
belt sander. 用来打磨，用砂纸，锉刀都行 |

几个星期前， 受主任转来的帖子启发。看到别人做的烤羊肉串儿的炉子很给力， 于是
决定自己也照猫画虎做一个。首先在网上搜到那个bender， 看上去不错。就在DC版上
招呼了一嗓子。没想到竟然有很多人表示有兴趣儿加入。鉴于第一次试做， 没敢接受
太多人的汇款。只收了六个人的。我自己又购买了rivet gun，借着HD的50off100， 又
换装了更加给力新电钻。然后是买材料。经过一个星期每天一两个小时的零件加工，
今天终于进行最后的组装， 干了整整一天， 终于在晚上8点钟将7个烤羊肉串儿的炉子
做好了。
