At duke garden next to the 银杏, there is a 水杉 tree, one of the first
seedlings when the tree was discovered in early 1900s.
In UNC's garden, there are also several trees that are only found in China.
One of them is a beautiful 金钱柏--just in case somebody need its leaves :-) |

发帖数: 121 | 24 周末去了home depot和wal mart逛了逛。在home depot里面没发现育好的菜苗，只有种子
卖。卖的黄瓜种子里面没有叫japanese的，封面的图上也没有长的像中国黄瓜的。西红柿
有两种种子，beefmaster and another one, forgot name。所以最后种子实在walmart买
的，西红柿买的是early girl, 黄瓜买的是tasty green。黄瓜也是没找到大家mention过
的种类，这个是看起来最像的，不知道种出来真的像不像。
流水账结束。下面是菜鸟问题。谢谢回答。
1。怎么育种呢？是不是那个小盆装了土，放几颗种子就可以了？一定要用seedling mix
吗？还是普通的potting soil就可以？每天浇水是不是？酸奶瓶子下面要不要钻孔？要晒
太阳吗？温度怎么样？晚上比较冷行吗？（室温小于65度） |

ever.
Also my zone is 6A, I doubt it can survive the cold winter here.
I heard friends down in NJ had some success.
the seedling here is expensive, like $20 each not considering shipping yet
so now I can only buy salted toon leaves from Chinese grocery store to treat
myself once a while. |

to National Arbor Day Foundation website you will found a lot of flowering
trees. But their tree seedlings are very small, you need to wait for years
to see blooms. Go to Home Depot to check with them, you will get better idea
, especially for best perform flowering trees in your area. Good luck! |

them? It depends on the type of vegetables you are growing. They don't seem
to like 青菜 or 大白菜, but they like tomatoes that hang low. They were
eating the leaves of my 丝瓜 like salad, so I just sprayed some pesticide
particles around the seedlings. The label says it is harmless. The
particulate herbicide should be available in many stores. |

seeds. But it is not worth the effort for the modern-day hybrid. You will
get very low yield next season. It is just easier to buy new seeds or
seedlings next year.
If you have cucumbers that are turning yellow, you can still harvest them
for cooking like zucchini. |

were you, I would wet the small pots first then cut the containers with a
pair of scissors to avoid damage to the roots.
You may actually get one tomato or two if you don't transplant, but I guess
your tomato is not going to be bigger than the container itself. |

almost impossible to tell by looking at a seedling because Pumpkin Family is
a big family with many species and many more cultivars. |
