Here's the situation around me.
The NHK is saying that the chance of getting aftershocks bigger than M7.0 is
~70%.
Supermarkets and kombinis in central Sendai are emptied out today, but I
have secured food for ~2 weeks, with a 5kg bag of rice.
I'm just going out to help out people in Higashi Nibancho school in central
Sendai.
Still experiencing aftershocks.
No gas/heating yet. I have filled the bathtub with water and I pour some
boiling water when I try to take a bath tonight.

with cars heading inland toward Sendai. Then police and fire vehicle sirens
began blaring tsunami warnings.
Hiltbrand and Aiura climbed to the second story of the church, a building
that is raised 4 to 5 feet off the ground.

Things here in Sendai have been rather surreal. But I am very blessed to
have wonderful friends who are helping me a lot. Since my shack is even
more worthy of that name, I am now staying at a friend*s home. We share
supplies like water, food and a kerosene heater. We sleep lined up in

7.9 magnitude quake hits Japan; tsunami warning
TOKYO – Japan was struck by a magnitude 7.9 earthquake off its northeastern
coast Friday, shaking buildings in Tokyo for several minutes and prompting
a tsunami warning.
Japan's meteorological agency warned that a tsunami as high as 20 feet (6
meters) could strike the coast near Miyagi prefecture, closest to the
