之后，我们用同样的contract 给他们延期了三个月。期间由于HVAC的问题，房顶leak

我的in-law在美国呆的时候，帮我种花种菜，至于草坪，他嗤之以鼻。他的观点是美国人够傻，花
钱花时间在他看来都是野草的东西。可是我们都知道，在海外，草坪的外观对房产的价值有很大影
响。而且草坪出了问题，你没有选择，必须解决，否则HOA给你好看。不象家里养的花花草草瓜瓜菜菜，
死了就死了，爱管不管。
草坪的维护周期长，劳动强度大，而且经常有意想不到的问题，往往要求助于lawn care公司。虽然有
人不差钱，但是如果能够自己成为专业人士，事倍功半的管理好草坪，甚至美化，乐趣还是多多。
由此，我认为很有必要在mitbbs上开辟一个专门版面方便讨论交流。

在美国扎下跟的老中一般住好区，治安相对不错，很多老中就逐渐丧失了警惕性，疏于
自我防范和自我保护，甚至拿这个向国内炫耀，这毛病一定要改。美国最可怕的地方就
是歹徒都有枪！入室偷窃入室抢劫这种事虽然很少发生，但一旦发生可能就要了命，不
仅仅是财物的损失。
我来聊聊我自己是怎么自我保护的吧。希望对大家有点启发。
首先是绝不露财。我家里的shade晚上永远是关着的。平时开车进车库后，我总是先关
车库门，再下车搬东西。如果买了比较值钱的家电，我肯定不会把包装箱放在垃圾桶旁
等人收走，而是自己开车丢到垃圾站去。我有个朋友不久前买了台70寸的大平板，结果
没过一星期就被人破门而入搬走了，这就是个教训。
我的大门都是那种厚实木的，都有deadbolt，而且每扇门还配有security bar（如果你
