的消息。 我本人是欧洲理科博士，学校还可以，但不是Oxford这样的牛校，一年前决
定转行Quant，来香港已经半年了， 只面了一家，经验不足有点慌，挂掉了。 我平时
的工作就是C++， Fortran，Python 编程， 推导数学公式啥的。 学过John的书， 会
平凡期权的定价（障碍的要看情况）， Greeks, 啥的。其他的Future，SWAP也都有所
了解。蓝绿皮书翻了有两三遍，应该说基本都会做了。Shreve的书暂时还没看。 另外
个人有三四年的FX 现货市场的经验，有自己的一个粗糙的模型，最近一年收益还可以
（没保证以后也可以赚钱，暂时不想靠这个谋生，风险太大，另外就是还想入行后多了
解些再做决定）以前没怎么学过的随机过程也重新复习了（主要还是根据绿皮的部分为
大纲看的）。 前段时间香港野村有个Quant的机会， 但说是要随机过程极强的人（挺
口气是要相当于数学随机专业博士学位的人），猎头问我有没把握，想了想，还是没敢
面。
现在面临的问题

是做投行的，其实99.9%做得不是投行的事情， equity research做得也不是投行的活
，只是所以投行都得要这个职能才能接投行的活。因为skillset需要，一代移民像你我
这样的很难在美国做sellside analyst或者investment banking,即使混进去，也很难
存活。 |

是只有ib才能赚钱，trader一样能赚钱，pwm做得好也一样能赚钱，但是trader的收入
个体间差异很大，位置很不稳,ib相对好些，base差不多，bonus看公司，主要是自己
team做得deal数量, m&a, ipo都是deal的种类，也是比较赚钱的种类

本人离牛人的距离隔着大西洋，要看牛人经历的话不必浪费时间。本人经历适用后刚工
作几年的career起步阶段的童鞋。
背景：Finance，CFA, FRM, SAS,工作经历3-5年
工作内容：corporate credit analysis, equity research, bloomberg, S&P
找工作网站：linkedIn, Efinance, careerBuilder. (最后工作是linkedIn上投的，公
司自己的recruiter联系的)
公司：商业银行（NYC）
感想：linkedIn还是比较靠谱的，基本我的面试都是linkedIn上的。
面试：投了简历，投得蛮多的，也蛮多电话面试，基本都是和recruiter谈。
Recruiter: 感觉和recruiter对话真是赤裸裸的，基本一开始就问你现在挣多少，
bonus多少，期望值多少。
每次聊后我都乖乖地写email感谢。

或者MBA去硅谷肯定比在花街拿的多，不论你在花街找developer还是quant还是quant
trader。你要非说一个学经济的可以在花街找到十万的工作在硅谷连工作都找不到，那
就是抬杠了。现在就是这行情，因为self esteem而不承认，现实就是这样 |

写程序，只是街上喜欢多套个马甲而已。和GF里面那些研究大数据广告算法性质上类似
，可收入差天上去了。
看得出你对街上基本没啥了解，拿投行说事还差不多。我所知道的就是HFT的developer
，如果挣不到40万，要么就是他们在准备着将来自己干，要么就是他们真的没本事挣到
这个数（到硅谷也不行）。另外，你根本就不知道街上05-08好时候是啥意思，一个08
年才挣到40万的哥们...还好意思说赶上好时候。我是没赶上好时候，但是也听说过了:
)。06-07年，街上过得去的组（就在投行里面，都不用说buyside），很多fresh grad
拿到奖金的话都不止35万第一年（那个时候Goog连18万都不一定发的到）。那个年代真
的300K+是真的相当多---那可是8年前的300k。但是真的过去了...。但是你一遍遍拿08
年HTF 40万说事，根本没任何价值。就像我如果和你说现在硅谷某个NB程序员一年200k
一样只能说明对硅谷屁都不懂:)，你这么说只能证明你根本不会选择论据或者根本对街

I do not believe the skillset of a second tier XXX programmer represents the

what I am against is his claim that a C++ person can learn EVERYTHING about SAS in A HOUR.

提了。
job description中要求会SQL, SAS 和 R，编程语言要求会java, python or perl,还
要求会运用machine learning and predictive model。在学校上过python基础课，工
作时候编过很简单的数据处理自动化小程序。面试的时候这个职位也没有考coding，更
没有问我machine learning, 老板是MBA背景，完全不会coding. 我自己文科转统计背
景，对machine learning没有什么经验，这个offer虽然拿到了，不知道自己能不能胜
任。ecommerce risk and fraud 这一块，是不是已经很成熟了，有现成model可以应用
？是不是只要SAS或R script就可以了？
比较喜欢这个职位的原因就是e-commerce risk management and predictive model这一
