比如，我的秘书帮我买实验室的东西，有些网上的东西必须用信用卡买，她就拿系里公
用的卡帮我买，因为我没有自己的。
有个秘书就写信给我 you are using the department card extensively and you
want to have your own to free the usage to other faculty and staff.
我其实平均1个月就用3， 4 次的样子。
我给他的回信：
Earlier you told me that I used the department card too extensive that
others could not access it. Would please tell me the number of purchases
per month using the department card? I really want to have some sense about
it.

不知这两种有什么区别。是不是申请R grant/k01 需要instructor title.
一旦换了staff scientist 是不是以后就不能做tenure track assistant professor了

我现在是个research associate, 老板是medical physicist，没有funding的经验。系
里能support我到明年三月。
去年有一个小idea,先问了NIBIB的人，让试NCI的小R01。 又问了系里的人跟合作公司
的意见，本想试AIP R01。公司方面有兴趣但是不知道怎么做。又问NCI的program
officer。 得到一封长信， 让我去试QIN program, 还指点我去找那些有经验的PI合作
。 我又问了系里的前辈， 对方为我起草了一封信给那些PI， 信里明说是NCI 的
program officer叫我这么做的。后来有一个ＰＩ很快回信愿意合作， 但是他认为主
要idea是我的，他坚持我应该自己做leading PI, 他可以帮我，做multiPI。 QIN的
program officer曾经很含蓄的告诉我，这个project很适合他的program,但是因为这个
program没有新ＰＩ的credit, 建议我换PI. 我问了一圈儿，我老板， 合作者，都坚

google是一般SWE, 连senior也没有。G, M, F, Twitter的title都很低。Linkedin和
Amazon稍好。硬件的title都很高。fresh phd至少senior. |

，要变成staff level，让我去office visit以后再确定。不过office visit不给报销
路费，说他们只给senior级别的人报销，除非后面能证明我胜任senior那个职位。
这样的面试值不值得去？如果最后落下来是staff，工资估计没涨多少，但可以去一个
比较大的组工作，而且是五百强。现在的工作组里只有我一个，虽然给的是senior的
title，但啥活都是我自己做。老板也没有意思给我升职。
如果去面试，要请假，加上路费大约三四百刀。请大家给点意见 |
