在这里，我发现中国人所谓的美国的“自由女神像”不过是中国人的说法而已。在英文
里，它的名字不过是Liberty Statue，其中根本没有“神”的含义，因为当时的法国和
美国都是基督教国家，而基督教里没有“女神”一说，即使在美国所有关于它的正式语
言文字资料中也没有“女神”之说。

自由女神像（Statue of Liberty）
NY最著名地标之一。位于曼哈顿最南端的battery park的西南方向的小岛上，可以
坐船过去。官网：https://www.nps.gov/stli/planyourvisit/fees.htm
去小岛的轮渡有两个出发点，一个是曼哈顿最南边的battery park（红线地铁南边
终点South Ferry站下），另外一个是新泽西的Liberty State Park（battery park的
正西方向）。一般在NY玩的都选择从battery park出发，不过如果实在没有票了也可以
考虑新泽西。卖票的官网：https://www.statuecruises.com/#/
票一共分三种类型：1.轮渡以及在岛（的地面）上游玩。2.pedestal access：除
了1外，还可以到神像底座里面游玩。3.crown access：除了1和2，还可以上到神像头
顶皇冠上游玩（火炬是上不去滴），注意没有电梯可以上去，游客只能爬总共393级的

Attorney General SHALL grant...”
Because the Statue uses the word “MAY”, 7th year H1 extensions are at the
DHS Secretary’s discretion.
Note that the statue was written prior to the creation of DHS. After DHS was
created - as per the Homeland Security Act of 2002 - this specific function

也可能是因为没有心情，也可能是因为排队的人太多，两个多月偶都没有去看STATUE OF
LIBERY，只是在BROOKLYN BRIDGE上远眺过。
最后一个周末，禁不住还是上了去STATUE OF LIBERTY 和ELLIS ISLAND 的FERRY。只是没
想到这两处原来属于NATIONAL MONUMENT。其实我觉得看STATUE OF LIBERTY，远眺要比近
观更有味道，因为这是LAND OF FREEDOM AND HOPE的象征，再看过ELLIS ISLAND，就能体
会到从十九世纪末到二十世纪中，逃亡者经历数月漂泊，看到新大陆就在前方的心情。匆
匆走过ELLIS ISLAND的IMMIGRATION MUSEUM，看过那些描述当年盛况的图片和实物。虽然
ELLIS
ISLAND作为移民美国的入口已经在上个世纪五十年代正式关闭了，可是无形的ELLIS
ISLAND早已延伸到世界的各个角落，MENTAL TEST也改成了GRE，GMAT之类，可是不管怎样

时间比较有限，不知道是否都去？
计划不去ellis岛了。
Audio应该也没什么用吧？英文的，爸妈一起，不听也都还好。
ferry是最少，monument还需要去吗？
monument是上到自由mm上面吗？如果是的话很期待。。。
另外查了一下，带monument的好像必须加audio？而且最晚是1:30pm的船。
难道不能再早了吗？我们的飞机1点到纽约。。。估计是赶不上吧？ |

发帖数: 377 | 38 也可能是因为没有心情，也可能是因为排队的人太多，两个多月偶都没有去看STATUE OF
LIBERY，只是在BROOKLYN BRIDGE上远眺过。
最后一个周末，禁不住还是上了去STATUE OF LIBERTY 和ELLIS ISLAND 的FERRY。只是没
想到这两处原来属于NATIONAL MONUMENT。其实我觉得看STATUE OF LIBERTY，远眺要比近
观更有味道，因为这是LAND OF FREEDOM AND HOPE的象征，再看过ELLIS ISLAND，就能体
会到从十九世纪末到二十世纪中，逃亡者经历数月漂泊，看到新大陆就在前方的心情。匆
匆走过ELLIS ISLAND的IMMIGRATION MUSEUM，看过那些描述当年盛况的图片和实物。虽然
ELLIS
ISLAND作为移民美国的入口已经在上个世纪五十年代正式关闭了，可是无形的ELLIS
ISLAND早已延伸到世界的各个角落，MENTAL TEST也改成了GRE，GMAT之类，可是不管怎样
，人类追求自由的愿望总是挡不住的。 |

遍，趁没忘多少赶紧写下来，以后读起来一定很有意思。
Statue of Liberty:
这个，去NYC肯定是要去看的啦，LD几年下来，陪来玩儿的朋友去过N次。其实排长队(
赶不巧，排2小时算短的，当然边排边悠闲地晒太阳，看来来往往的人是另一回事) ，
坐船到Ellis Island, 爬到statue的帽子里没什么太大意思 (现在也不知道让不让爬了
)。人离得越近，越不好照相，越难取景。后来发现LD 老板推荐的坐Staten Island 的
渡轮是很好的游览方法。渡轮每15到30分钟就有一班，免费，虽然不停但途经Statue
of Liberty, 一路上有足够的时间以其为背景照相。船到Staten Island不用下船，直
接就又回来了。
Central Park:
可以租辆自行车，要不从一头走到另一头，或只是横穿公园也得走一阵。当然有时间的
话很值得在公园里多溜哒溜哒，我们是横穿N回纵穿也有一两回了吧，每回都有新发现

今年8月的第三个周末和家人一道开车去Princeton, Jersey City以及纽约市一带玩了
三天。此次出行的主要意图的是陪大女儿参观Princeton大学，顺便陪从国内来探亲的
小姨子一道游玩纽约市。
我们行程的第一天是在Princeton大学及其附近一带度过的，第二天一大早开车前往与
纽约一河之隔的Harrison City，并将车趴在由该市前往纽约的Path（城市间的通勤火
车）站附近（周末可以找到免费车位），然后乘Path前往纽约的World Trade Center站
下车。在WTC附近走马观花似地看了一圈后来到了Wall Street，并从那里向东到了East
River的水边，再由此向北到了Brookline Bridge附近，再后来就去了Chinatown，并
