因为选了《人体结构与功能》这门课,我无聊时也会在图书馆翻翻最新医学相关杂志。
在一本叫“基因”(还是“遗传”?)的专业杂志上看到一篇文章。
是一篇以人体已退化器官来追溯人类分化发展的文章。
说男性目前还都有结构跟女性一样的乳腺组织,和没用了的子宫结构。
然后后面那句话汗死我了……
“如果用适当的方式刺激男性乳腺,也是可以分泌乳汁的。”
我在图书馆差点没死过去。
专业的医学观点都是要大量实验支撑的,那么——

其实俺是搞磁刺激的,算nerve吧,做过peripheral的,没碰过spinal的,主要还是
cortical的
TMS。
大利的electrical stimulation是很牛,不过我是想说magnetic stimulation很牛,本
来是想
指北海南岸诸国甚至波罗的海南岸和斯堪的纳维亚等地区。这个牛体现在系统研究起步
早,研究扎实有
基础性,牛人密集,实验员手艺好,仪器公司集中。美国也有若干拿得出手的牛老板,
但是主要是
publication的IF高。这都是俺的印象。
加拿大给我印象牛是因为IFCN总部在温哥华,还有业内著名小公司Rogue Research在蒙
特利尔。

其实主要是因为stimulation plan expire. 但是在客观上就造成了资金变少了。
那些拿到stimulation 的大牛实验室们原来可能客气一点,现在就要挽起袖子和
小实验室们抢饭吃了。所以一批今年没有拿到NIH grant 的小实验室明年就有麻烦了。
上个星期我们老板和NIH program(我们的资金所在的program) director 通电话,
她很严肃的告诉我们:明年的申请看起来不妙,让我们做好准备,很可能就是一锤子买卖
(you may only have one shot, so you may need to prepare it really well)
吓得我们发抖了好几天。我们现在正在疯狂的找alternative funding resource.

I've checked that paper. Based on my understanding, the paper said ATP
stimulation can temporarily inhibit respiration and reduce mitochondrial
membrane potential, so inhibit mitochondrial Ca2+ uptake. After temporary
inhibition of Ca2+ uptake, ATP is consumed and mitochondrial respiration
resumed and cause mitochondrial Ca2+ boost. And the boost after ATP
stimulation can reflect the ability of cellular respiration.

For functionality determination of macrophages, you can stimulate the cells
with Toll-like receptor agonists (e.g. LPS). The stimulated macrophages will
release TNF and IL-6. Also, macrophages are known to engulf foreign
pathogens, you might want to also verify their engulfing ability by using
certain bacteria.
It really depends on how far you want to go and how satisfied the reviewers
would be.

不光是T/B细胞,也要考虑到macrophage or DC。
For T/B cell, isolate T/b from spleen and stimulate them with CD3/CD28 for T
cell, IgM/LPS/CD40 etc for B cell. Look at proliferation and some cytokines
production (IL-2/IFN-g for T cells), will give your some ideas.
For antibody titer, get sera form mice and do ELISA for IgM/IgG/IgA, etc.
For mf or DC, try use TLRs ligands to stimulate them and look at cytokines
production (ELISA or qPCR).
Should be good for the first run screening.

要建一个steroid drug treatment model去检测steroid的抗炎作用. 要用IL-1 去
stimulate inflammation in cells,然后看steroid对一些细胞因子基因表达的抑制作
用。现在问题是应该先IL-1 stimulate inflammation,在用steroid treat细胞呢。还
是先用drug treat细胞,在用IL-1stimulate 细胞。我看有一些paper用后者,请教一
下为什么啊?正常在临床中的程序不是应该先有炎症在用药物治疗的吗?谢谢!

1. Drink a lot of water, at least 6 to 8 liters per day. You may even drink
some water when you wake up at night.
2. Eat dinner a little late, and eat a lot of food so you do not end up with
only a little food residue in the bowl. You can eat a lot of vegetables
such as fresh cucumbers to avold gaining fat. Do not diet because less food
residues will only make it drier.
3. Avoid calcium rich food such as milk, use yogurt instead, I personally
have that issue.

我觉得他说的很对啊~ 美国经济稍有的一点起色是政府的STIMULATION造出来的,经济
能不能恢复,要看实体经济,如果实体经济在没有政府STIMULATION的情况下SLOW DOWN
的话,经济不可能快速起来的。。。
