我在FLG做quant, 本来是要签Pre-ipo 其中的一个做team lead，快签的前两天 Stitch
Fix 约我面试，第二天发了Offer,几天后我改变了主意， 签了 Stitch Fix。
Stitch Fix 的business model很新颖，也很有效。我有看过他们的收入数据，很惊人
。湾区就算是Tech 公司，三年到$300M 估值的也不多吧 （而且这是C轮的估值， 而现
在按他们的收入情况估值可以翻倍).
如果看VC， benchmark是非常selective 的VC， 投过 Twitter, Uber, Snapchat and
Instagram, 而 benchmark 不到一年之内投了stitch fix 两轮 (Series B in Oct
2013 and Series C in Jun 2014) ,其中一个general partner Bill Gurley 写了一篇

没想到，很长时间低迷的mpw以后，上周开始，到今天，连续六次跑步，每次都有，而
且是几乎第一步开
始就疼了，然后整个10迈的路程里面就一直没断过，简直痛不欲生啊。

我发现还真管用，我是动不动就side stitch。现在每次跑的时候特意慢慢上速度，先
按3.7m/h走一两分钟，再6.0跑几分钟，然后再按当天预记速度跑，好象好多了。很长
时间没有疼了。 |

绣字的针法比绣图案反而简单些，用back stitch就行了（见附图）。

"英文大师"钱钟书东抄西抄, 扮演文抄公的角色, 都可以
同情地理解。因为钱钟书的英文没有创造性, 你不让他抄,
叫他怎么办?
但滑稽的是, 钱钟书抄错了, 闹了一个大笑话。
钱钟书1937年的文章中的"scatter-brained flappers"抄自
著名美国作家爱伦·格拉斯哥(Ellen Glasgow)1935年的小说
"Vein of Iron"里面的"scatterbrained flapper", 但问题就出
在"flapper"这个词上面。
在英文中, "scatterbrained flapper"中的"flapper"这个词是指
第一次世界大战到1929年这段时期中的不拘一格的女子。

25，70 stitch 是说缝纫机有多少built-in的stitch patterns
像straight, zigzag,fancy的装饰等等。新手的话25 stitch
应该够用了。local店你可以去walmart, joann看看。网上
amazon也很多。Singer $80-$100左右的应该够用了。

这款90多元，是手动控制锁钮洞锁边，简单实用。
我们家的是60 stitch的，很多装饰功能根本用不到。我们使用几天后
觉得电脑控制的有点小问题时有时候踩不动。
今天在joann还看见一款29.99元的，初学者新手也许可以用来练练手。
不过我爸可能老式缝纫机用多了，所以偏好简单机械化手动操作的。
一般人也可能用自动化程度高的电脑控制的更容易些。 |

1。 看了一些pattern,好像大多只用到了cross stitch 和 back stitch。 那么，其他
的那些比如french stitch, quarter stitch 之类的都有什么用处呢？是不是很复杂的
pattern才用的到？
2。 线起头和结尾的时候都需要打结吗？还是直接剪断就可以了？

发帖数: 6979 | 39 问题就在carseat背面那个所谓的energy absorbing stitching。 我打了电话给britax
，他们不承认是他们的问题，总说是没装好，其实网上已经有不少人在抱怨了。解决办
法就是把那个stitching拆掉。你可以按照拆harness的instruction把那个stitching去
掉，完全不影响安全性，但再也没有带子不够长的问题了。

发帖数: 5040 | 41 现在能够自己造船的工艺，一个是搭一个框架，然后用玻璃钢布，或者碳纤维布蒙在上
面，然后上环氧树脂之类的，这是最轻的方案。
另外一个非常普遍，叫做STITCH-AND-GLUE，这个是先用薄板做蒙皮，用STITCH把各片
木板连在一起，然后胶好。所有接头的地方都再铺一层玻璃钢布，涂上树脂防漏水。等
完全干了之后就可以把STITCH除掉了。然后再在外面铺设一层玻璃钢布，再刷树脂。
这样造出来的船，重量虽然比第一种要重，但是成本却很低，一块PLYWOOD没有几个钱。
大家可以在YOUTUBE上面找到大量的用这种技术造的船。小的十几尺，大的数十尺。
有兴趣学一点这个技术，这里有个详细的做KAYAK的
