发帖数: 1713 | 2 最近在准备材料,Eb1B,公司给办.现在律师让我写research summery,说他们会从我这里
来抽取东西提交到正式文件,用通俗易懂的语言来写.但也没具体说给抽到哪个材料里,
我能想到的就是PL.
但律师发的RS模板里,只是泛泛的描述一下phd以及现在公司的research的相关内容,有
点类似总结性质,就是个summery,总共也就2页.模板里没有吹啊.比如什么top journey
或者引用文章的情况,顶多提一句多少引用,就完了.
如果最终律师只是从这里面摘东西,那也太普通了,没有所谓的吹得成分,就是描述事实.
请有经验的人指教. |

我们学校每年大概有三到四次成批的考试，每次考试学校会买三套卷子。
比如春季毕业，他们会买SpringI,II,V,夏季的时候他们会买SummerI,II,V,
秋季的时候是FallI,II,V.
其中Spring I和SummerI,FalI中间至少有一半的题目是重复的。
同理，Spring II和SummerII,FallII也有很多题目是重复的。
相对来说II系列比I简单，重复率高。
我们班去年五月毕业的时候很多同学用的是SpringI,个别是II,
后来Fail的那些人暑假再考用的就是II卷，很多都过了，而且分数特高。
我是秋天考的（暑假回过了），第一次用I,FAIL,很低,
学得不好,丢得太久,也怪自己当时不相信弄到的那些REPORT。
考完发现跟以前的I重复的很多，于是决定相信它。
接下来的一个月就狂攻REPORT,到处找同学要STUDY POCKET(每次错了之后HESI会给),
然后打印出来,好多哦,自己看不完,让老公帮着看,然后把重点划下来,我只看他画的重
点.
一个月之后再考,分数大幅跃升近两百分,险险的过了.:)

Second, T-T position most likely is 9-month salary, other 3 is on your own,
some have summery salary for first 2-3 years as a start-up, not always.
Unless you will teach during summer, not quite sure if anyone wants to do that.

一般PANEL MEETING之前就给RATE，如果RATE的分数太低，就不会在MEETING上讨论，直
接就拒掉了。
在MEETING上讨论的又分为PRIMARY，SECONDARY，和DO NOT SUPPORT，一般MEETING上讨
论的都会给一个PANEL SUMMARY。所以如果你的PROPOSAL被拒并且没有PANEL SUMMERY就
说明连第一轮都没过，不过也不用泄气，很多大牛的PROPOSAL也是第一轮不过就刷下来
了。如果被拒但有SUMMARY说明PROPOSAL还可以，但是还不够好。如果PROPOSAL中了但
是中间等了很长很长时间就说明是SECONDARY，很好，但是PO要凑钱。要是凑不到只能
建议你修改修改下次再投了。
一般PROPOSAL没有大的硬伤都能过第一轮，硬伤可以是PROPOSAL的原创性和新颖性。也
可以是缺少明显的NSF要求的但是不重要的部分，比如EDUCATION PLAN。硬伤甚至可以
是PROPOSAL的格式和字体大小。总之，只要严格按照NSF要求写PROPOSAL自己再仔细推
敲推敲都能混过第一轮。

首先是时间问题，在deadline之前提前多久联系比较合宜？几天？10－20几天？or 几
个月前？
第二是make appointment的问题，需要把project summery先发过去吗？还是就是写一
段短的介绍发过去，然后约时间跟program manager再详细谈？还是什么也不要特别说
明，只是在email里约个时间？如果是第一次跟program manager联系，有必要发CV吗？
第三是谈的问题。一般电话谈要多长时间合适？10分钟？20分钟？etc.
出来乍道，问得问题可能对很多人来说太简单。还请多多帮忙。 |

而工资可以按9个月或者12个月发...我的疑问就是这还经济系，如果多发连个月工资，
那岂不是谁都要9个月发工资的，这样多出的2个月，不是数字就多了么？难道设计税收
问题...这个对我与我这个非学术圈的十分不理解...
多谢分享，文科尤其她经济学，估计启动经费没有那么多空间估计就是1万到3万间吧，

发帖数: 21 | 36 我的EAD卡2月初到期，原来的学校ISS说有5个月Grace Period. 这样能到7月初，但是
不够撑到fall入学。
所以申请了另外的学校的summer入学，新的I20说6月开始。但是由于学费太贵，而且由
于系里开课少也没有合适的课可选。所以想咨询可不可以夏季注册，但是不选课，以保
持身份。
如果必须选，谁知道最少可以选多少学分，可以都选成summerII的吗。现在summerI的
选课弄过期了，可能有些麻烦了！

大家不正确的纠正，不齐全的补充，也给来美混的新人们提个醒。
- [标题] 相比之下，欧洲人喜欢多用 Curriculum Vitae (CV), 拉丁语，意思为
course of life，其格式有一定的标准; 而美国人多喜欢用的 résumé 则为法语，为
summery 之意，格式比较自由。
- [个人资料] 以前就知道美国人有两忌不能问: 年龄和体重. 但我想婚姻可能也包括
在内吧，要不 Ms. 出现的比 Mrs. & Miss 还多(纯粹个人意见)。而且美国招聘文化不
允许存在种族歧视，性别歧视和各种其他歧视吧，个人那一部分只注明姓名，地址和电
话就完事了。鉴于欧洲文化，我的头两个简历没改就寄出了由此犯了几个大错误: 年龄
，国籍，婚姻状况甚至照片都统统交了底。。。晕。。。
欧洲人可能更注重家庭生活吧，甚至把有没孩子，孩子的年龄及名字也表明，说是这样
更表明对家庭的热爱和那份责任感。但在美国，完全没必要啊！
