One of our commenters asked about whether the Lotus Sutra was considered
authentic according to the Theravadin view.
To answer this from the traditional Theravadin point of view, all the
Mahayana Sutras are inauthentic in the sense that they were not spoken by
the Buddha. Historically, Theravada has tended to take a dim view of

发帖数: 7025 | 9 「经」是 Sūtra (Sanskrit: सूत्र, Pāli: sutta, Ardhamagadhi: sūya) 的意译，音译为「修多罗」。Literally it means a thread or line that holds things together and is derived from the verbal root siv-, meaning to sew. 所以中文指「经」线，取「贯穿」的意思。
In Brahmin lineage, each family is supposed to have one Gotra, and one Sutra, meaning that a certain Veda (Śruti) is treasured by this family in way of learning by heart.

提要
與佛教同屬於新興宗教思潮的沙門陣營的耆那教，不僅是佛教初興當時的主要競爭對手
之一，同樣也為佛教傳統建構中的宗教制度發展等帶來刺激與滋養。雖然彼此教義有差
異，但是由於雙方實際興起與發展的時代重疊，宗教術語亦甚為接近，在宗教文化共構
處甚多的情形下，學界戲稱兩者為「姊妹教」。礙於彼此宗教競爭，佛教看待耆那教的
態度與耆那教理解自身宗教傳統的心態不同，從而「佛教聖典中的耆那教」與「耆那教
聖典中的耆那教」之間的兩種形象存有差異。若是如此，初期佛教聖典所見的宗教競爭

Indian Mahayana masters have written numerous commentaries on important Mahayana sutras, such as Diamond Sutra, Heart Sutra, Lotus Sutra, Vimalakirti Sutra, etc. Nobody in India has ever mentioned the name of 楞严经, let alone comment on it. |

商伽经全文如下，请问佛接下来那里说了“要如实知，如实见才能达到：“仅此为真、
余为伪”之结论。”？
说漏了承认就是，绕东绕西扯sutra的理解有什么意义。
行为不如实，sutra解释的天花乱坠也不是自己的。
何况，从头到尾，谁又在讨论经文的解释。
我列出商伽经是为了指出佛说过楼主的话，某人大嘴巴而已。
advancing也只是指出某人大嘴巴，替佛说话，
说什么“中部第九十五经，佛接下来说要...”，而没有依据而已。
为了大嘴巴的行为辩解，都往经文解释上扯，真是不知所云。
行为不如实，不面对自己的行为，sutra解释的天花乱坠也不是自己的。

性福－－三本必读的书
夫妻之间的情感在很大程度上取决于性生活的质量。可惜我们这代人因“红色中国”，
在一定程度上因性知识的有限而没有完全享受夫妻之间的鱼水之乐。其实，古代的中国
有不少朝代在这方面是相当开放的。遗留下来的东西也很多。但真正有实用的价值的要
算春宫画类，只是这类东西太露骨，一般不容易见到。
文字描述的，则以“金瓶梅”最为出名。这本书在我们青春澎湃的年代是禁书。从性学
的角度讲，这本书并不是太好。细节描述有，但具体的不多。更没有作者的体会，分析
和评论了。８０年代，这本书在大陆出版过“洁本”。但所谓洁本，反而是以性为主，
没有了该书关于人性的深刻剖析，不伦不类了。这本书现在在网上可以随便找到，这是
其中一个网址：

这本书值得一读，除性知识上受益外，它也是一本关于人性的好书。
中文里真正对性知识有很好的描述和评论的，当推“肉蒲团”。这本书在日本的地位比

Yogacarabhumi passage I quoted is commentary on the specific Agama sutra;
with this interpretation, the Buddha's answer to Ananda's initial question
is clear.
Substituting your explanation, the meaning of the Q & A in the sutra is not
clear.
This is one way to determine if an interpretation is applied correctly. |

时有异比丘，从座起，整衣服，为佛作礼，合掌白佛；「唯然，世尊所说四圣谛，我悉受持」。
佛告比丘；「汝云何受持四圣谛」？比丘白佛言∶「世尊说言∶此是苦圣谛，我即受持；此苦集圣谛，此苦灭圣谛，此苦灭道迹圣谛，如是世尊说四圣谛，我即受持」。
佛告比丘∶「善哉！善哉！我说苦圣谛，汝真实受持。我说苦集圣谛，苦灭圣谛，苦灭道迹圣谛，汝真实受持」。

'受持' means 'remembering' here. The Buddha is checking whether the monks understands and remembers 4 noble truth correctly. '按照去做' makes no sense in this sutra.
受持 -> 信受, 按照去做 in some Mahayana sutras later. This was not the case in 阿含经. |

Later Mahayana sutras emphasize the way to Buddhahood(e.g. Buddha nature) is
distinct from Sravakayana. The date they were translated into Chinese
correlates to, though not equal to, when they appeared in India. Dating can
be cross-checked with the first time they were cited by people (luan shi). |
