Nick Symmonds, 5'10, 165 lb. That's like me, even a little heavier. USA 800m
champion this year, he has 1:43 800m, 3:38 1500m.

still way off. Lance Armstrong was never good at running considering how
high his VO2max is.
Nick Symmonds at 800m would be the equivalent of Ryan Hall at the marathon.

ok but sprinters are a different category. Symmonds is a still distance
runner. Though he specializes in the 800, his 1500 time is elite level while
his 400 time is not elite level.

And see Al Salazar, best American marathoner of his era, horrible heel
strike and runs like a crab:

Sixty years ago, Sir Roger Bannister showed that barriers were

to run under 4 minutes for the mile with his historic 3:59.4 clocking.
On Sunday, James Nielsen of California took down another mark
that was previously thought to be unattainable, that of dipping
under 5 minutes for the beer mile, which involves drinking 4 beers
while running four laps of the track. Watch as... 阅读全帖
