人水平有限，而且也没有雄心壮志在米国当医生，所以已经决定不考board了。但是还
是想从事和本专业相关的。在网上google了一下，发现了clinical lab technologist
这个职业，我还非常有兴趣。而且也查了相关的信息，比如certification ,program,
但是从官网上看，好像目前没有什么一个标准的program, 有些都是on-job training,
所以我想问一下版上有没有从事这项工作的前辈，能否提供相关的信息。

发帖数: 238 | 4 clinical lab technologist 实际上就是 lab tech，我的印象似乎有本科或者硕士学
位就该叫 techonologist 了。以前on-job training 很多，现在很难了，需要进
medical technology (MT/CLS) program，大概一年半到两年。入学不难，学费也不贵
，工作还算轻松，对语言要求不高，但是很单调，在国内做过医生的话，你以后一定会
后悔的。另外，这个工作不太可能有机会办绿卡，你身份也是个大问题。 |

不知道美国这个职业就业和薪水如何？小弟现在在加拿大，国内本科是生物，加拿大弄
了个生化硕士，实在厌烦实验室看不到前途的日子，所以想转行了，专md难度有点大（
国内GPA不高的说），看来看去，自己的背景去干medical lab tech还行，这行在加拿
大的情况也稍有了解，就是想了解一下美国的情况（这里太冷，haha,还是美国好）

绝大多数学校不行，少数学校为了赚钱，可能接受国际学生。
自己去你家附近的认证的学校面谈，这个学校是你自己能开车去的，不是离开你家
很远的。这个事情是别人无法替代你做的。你在家里等着，任何信息不会从天而降。
美国那么大，实际上与你相关的只有一小片，你开车能去得了的地方，别的与你一律无
关。
无论申请学校，申请工作岗位都如此。

clinical chemistry fellowship program的优点是，读出来考了board后就有资格可以
做clinical lab的director，管理一个实验室和手下的medical technologists，工资
怎么也有10万以上，和传统的career path:
medical technologist -->
medical technologist supervisor --> director 相比省下不少时间。
但是走这条路的风险也是有的：
1. 竞争激烈：全美只有不到20个clinical chemistry fellowship program，我所在学
校的最近申请的人都有3年以上的博士后经验以及5篇以上的学术文章。
2. 毕业后就业不容易：我说的就业不易是针对没有在clinical lab里做过检验的人而
言的，我是phd candidate，就没有这方面的经验，不知道这个版上的人有没有相关经
