Big mistake in text: The verb for "petition" is still "petition", not "
petite".
Also most sentences should be written in past tense, not present tense.
Obviously someone needed to write better. I doubt the White House will take

1. Less is more。语言风格中最重要的是简洁明了。一个句子中，每个词语的意思都
不可以省略，才证明句子是精简的。空洞无意义的短语有很多，比如:

"for the purpose of"=for

noun.

义的描述。
英国 Will Durant 写的名著《世界文明史》的第一卷《Our oriental heritage 》。
从名字看就是明显的西方中心。写于上世纪初期，其中对中国的描写还不错。我发现，
从16世纪到20世纪初期，凡是对东方有一点了解的，基本都是对中国观感不错。
但是在50年代以后，也就是中共上台，西方历史著作对中国人整体的评价急转直下了。
