发帖数: 3219 | 1 天气预报说本周末有T-Storms. 多数会发生在下午。考虑到Timp需要一整天，下午很可
能会在山上碰到电闪雷鸣倾盆大雨。所以本周的Timp计划就推延到下周吧(8/2 or 8/3)。
本周可以搞个quick trip，不是有提议去Lake Blanche的吗？可以考虑。象上次一样，
争取下午变天前赶回来。 |

发帖数: 3219 | 2 今天起床晚了，十一点半才到Timp Trailhead，花了3小时47分爬到顶上，7.7 miles
one way, elevation gain 4358 ft. 在上面呆了近一个小时，然后花了3小时21分下
山。到停车场太阳还没下山。最高的野花还在盛开，其他的都凋谢了。最后一段没植被
的山路比较刺激，其他都没难度。

我上次爬（3年前）就是9点多到，花了很长时间到停车位。那个地方很popular，停车
位很紧张，至少3年前是那样。谁有大点的车，最好集合以后一起carpool去那边（谁有
大点的车啊？）
我不知道大家的体力怎么样，上次我们一共花了8-9个小时才下来的（在顶上呆了些时
间）。我3年前的体力还算不错，大峡谷r2r是10个半小时。现在的我要是爬Timp，我会
计划10个小时的时间。如果8点半黑天，9点开始应该没问题。 |

Aspan is shorter and steeper, w water falls, Emerald lake. Timp. has wild
flowers just as posted. It's still a little too early for that. A gal of
water is needed. Start early to get a parking spot. |

我们上次爬timp，是从东面上的，然后从北面下的。北面那个trail应该就是Aspen
grove那个吧。比较建议这个。东面那个太晒了。 |

发帖数: 1235 | 16 牛人呀! 徒手上过近6000米的山, 估计我还没到山脚就打道回府了.
个人觉得salt lake city 的lone peak, 还有南面的Mt. Nebo相对demanding一点, Mt.
Timpanogos 只是moderate 而已. 前两个我都没走过, Timp已经走了四回了, 下次来
个版聚爬Timp吧. |

15mile的路线。该汇报的去年都汇报过了，随便贴几张照片吧。

发帖数: 1837 | 18 从Alexander Basin上Gobblers Knob大概是8mile来回,4000feet的爬升.
从Aspen Grove上Timp大概是15mile来回,5000feet爬升.
总的来说爬升增加不多但路长了不少.另外Timp比Gobblers Knob高2000feet,要多用多
少时间还要看海拔对你有没有影响和下山有多快.我上下山速度基本差不多所以会比较
慢. |

Exactly one year ago, I did my first ever ultramarathon at The North Face
Bear Mountain 50 Miles. It was a very last minute decision inspired by Pen
and Tonyprince. It wasn’t a wise decision because I had very little
training after 2009 NYC marathon and Bear Mountain is a rough terrain where

, 累得到第三天还全身都酸痛, 不过第二次开始就学乖了, 爬起来也轻松多了, 最近的
一次花了9个半小时, 还是因为要等人,我估计自己的话,上山4个小时就可以了. 所以只
要稍稍练一下就可以了. 你好象走过Catherine pass吧, 比那个要难一些, 但差别也不
是特别大,
Pfeifferhorn可以从red pine lake那条trail走, 离你们那里确实比较近. |

发帖数: 1235 | 29 其实是tradeoff, 住一晚要多背很多东西, 如帐篷,睡袋,垫子, 炉子,气,filter什么的
, 这样一来你的背负重量就增加了. 而且, 睡一晚, 无论睡得多好, 第二天的体力肯定
不会是100%. 所以, 第二天是爬升,又背不少东西也很痛苦. 至少多背东西对我来讲比
较痛苦. 所以, 我现在平时hike都稍稍多背一点, 先练着. 我这次Timp的包重是20磅.
我看你的比我还重吧.
R2R我也更倾向住一晚, 至少没那么赶. |

我们计划是周六, 但因为下午会有T-storm, 要在中午以前登顶并下撤到treeline 以下
, 所以会比较早走. 大概是6:00~6:30AM hit the trailhead, 从provo canyon一边的
Aspen grove上, 来回是14迈多, 爬高4800尺.
要带rain gear, glove, headlamp... |

的车坐三个, 就明显走不动了, 每次去Alta/snowbird, 车都被人顶着屁股开...后面压
长长一串. |

不过long's peak还真不知道，毕竟又高了2000多。你慢慢爬吧，大不了比别人早开始2
小时，嘻嘻。有hiking pole的话，最好带上，那边的trail上有很多石头，大的小的，
有pole的话，好很多 |

overnight可能还凑或，day hike就。。。
今年没啥特别计划，有时间的话，想去uinta多backpacking几次。
我们今年也还想爬timp，趁野花盛开的时候，不过想overnight，不知你有没有兴趣？

且不用背三,四十磅的包. 如果能找到baby sitter, 我拖俺LD和你们一起去
backpacking timp :-) |

By the way, has anyone driven UT-150 into the Uinta Mountains recently? I
hope that road is still open. I have busy schedule this weekend. Saturday,
a supposedly easy hike to Bald Mountain in the Uinta Mtns, then road biking
around Park City if it's still early. Sunday, the hike to Mt Timp, a walk I
've been longing for, especially when fall color peaks up! |
