我前天撑晕过去后，就觉得是最后一顿了，可是今天又想吃。
当年上学的时候有一王同学，基督徒，很虔诚，感觉他是真基督徒，很多咱们大陆的人
去教会原因有多种，真信的不多，别看嘴上怎么说，神呀弟兄姐妹的，看看他做不做十
一奉献就看出来是真信还是蒙人的，他用奖学金做十一奉献。
王同学刚来美国的时候买了一辆车，很便宜，大概就一两千的样子。过了两年，就想买
辆好点的车。买了好车后，就把这个旧车送给了他的一个朋友，李同学，同实验室的，
签好了title, 嘱咐他自己去换title 和车牌子。
李同学5年博士一直没有买车，拿到这辆旧车后没过半年就毕业了，就把这辆车开到外
州去了。
再过了两年，王同学收到一张从华盛顿州拖车公司来的账单，大概两三千刀的样子，什
么拖车费，存车费，很多名目。
原来李同学工作了两年后，可能自己买了车，就把这辆车随便扔到一个地方了，警察就
让拖车公司拖走了。
由于李同学并没有换车牌，换titile。拖车公司等了很多天没有见人认领，就找到了王
同学。
王同学再联系李同学，联系不上了 |

你怎么办呢？如果公司愿意让你改TITILE匹配到和你专业相关的程度那可以轻松过关，
否则有风险。

请问统计phd在保险行业做统计的前景如何？具体适合的职位是什么？
快毕业了，要具体思考这个问题了。。。听人家说保险公司有的重精算轻统计，有的重
统计轻精算。请问：
1.如果不想考试，统计的phd是不是就是只能在保险公司里做统计了？
2.具体保险公司做统计是做啥？预测模型？extreme value theory？还是用SAS run
run预测模型？titile叫什么，analyst？
3.是不是前景没有精算的好？美国小本如果坚持精算考试，地位会比统计的高？
4.为什么感觉traveller跳槽率很高？之前认识一些在里面做modeling的manager自己出
来干data science了。这个不会是个例吧？

不过有时候真是舍不得自己学了10几年的专业
要说paper 也发了好几篇，影响因子最高的也有12，3，一般的7，8分的还有4，5篇 可
是最近发现工资真少， 这个行业真是没意义。
我博士毕业六年，titile 是research associate, 工资才4万，
去年转了统计，今年统计系给了ta 的fellowship， 发现我6年经验的生物博士的工资
跟TA 的工资是一样的，
我就算每周工作40个小时，每月的工资税前是3300每个小时大概20刀如果算上加班，工
作时间肯定要多
我TA名义上上20个小时每周，实际也就7.8小时，每月工资税前是1600正好是 以前的一
半，每个小时也是20刀。
算起来，生物博士白念了，6年的经验也没么用 |

Google： $115K base + 15% bonus + 200 GSU/4 years + $30K signon， group 是
gTech， 面向enterprise 客户 算是一个新组， 据说今年要招很多人 title是
technical solution engineer, 实际上software engineer， 不太清楚hiring
manager的情况 做的项目会比较杂 问过hr 和别的部门之间transfer 应该没有问题

phd的经验肯定是今后难有的.但这个经验不一定有用.
读不读phd,主要还是看将来做什么.
各公司senior tech staff之类技术titile高的,我没见过不是phd的.
但如果打算走business development之类的路,那phd当然无所谓.

有那么么玄乎吗，幸好我在美国读过博士，要不然真被你唬住了。至于说发文章，你扯
得就更没谱了。JSSC 是电路方面公认的最好的刊物，本科学历硕士学历发的JSSC 的文
章多着了。如果作者是在公司工作的，大部分是本科或者硕士学历。你要是不信，先找
一期JSSC 看看。
不读博士的理由多着了，要不你先去问问盖茨为什么不读博士。其实读不读博士完全是
个人的喜好，无所谓对错。但是如果读博士的目的是为了办绿卡，那绝不是一个好的理
由。如果想升官发财，读博士还不如读个MBA。 |

titile，薪水100k以上是肯定的。
但是找人统计或者生统必须明校phd，而且你光明校不行，还要认识人简历才过得来。
与其在这里问还不如多去了解了解你的program，看能给你哪些network。顺便说一句，
ms相当biostatistician现在的行情是肯定没戏，sas programmer也要networking。。
。。。
最后一句，你毕业怎么也要2，3年后把，那时候啥光景谁说的清除阿，自己判断吧，别
到时候说误听人言，就跟我一样，当初没跳cs，跳了统计 |
