Curriculum,或ESC课）都是fully credential的老师，别的学区一般不是。例如Poway
有所学校的美术课是我一个做工程师的朋友去volunteer教的。
之所以要请家长支持是因为7，8年前，由于经济不好，学校需要砍掉ESC的课，后来学
区家长自发组织了一个筹款基金会来帮学区筹钱，这样孩子还是能够有ESC的课。如果
每个孩子都有完整的ESC的课的话，学区需要筹到2MM的钱，算下来每个孩子需要$800元。
Prop 30的通过并不意味着ESC teacher的职位就保住了。和7，8年前一样，留住ESC老
师的唯一办法就是靠家长的支持---羊毛出在羊身上。不过学区的人上次也肯定的告诉
我们了，学区不会降低他们在ESC老师方面的预算。（ESC有一部分的钱是学区出的，另
一部分是家长支持的。）
DMUSD每所学校有专门的的Science和Technology Labs和老师，这个许多其他的学区也

能好好想想自己的topic,,,第二年的时候，希望能找到一个更好的topic，好好做个文
章。
You will not get your own "good" topic at this level. Your do not have that
capability yet as a first year student. Your job is to ask your advisor to
see if he has any topic so that you can work TOGETHER with your advisor.
At this stage, your job is to know how to conduct the research, not "try to

迷茫不知道自己的选择是不是正确的。最近看过很多帖子说统计小硕找工作不容易什么
的，弄得我一身冷汗。先做一下自我介绍本人31了，2009年毕业于国内一普通大学2E专
业。来美国5年了一直做全职，现在宝宝也快2岁了。我和老公的绿卡正在排期，大概是
两年后能排到，所以想现在学点东西到时候找个工作。我现在的想法就是只要毕业能找
到工作就好。真怕花了老公大把银子最后还是家庭主妇。哦对了忘交代了，我的英语水
平是一般。教育宝宝都是全中文的。我的问题主要有2个方面。
1.学统计从事哪个方向的就业机会多啊？我看有学生物统计去药厂的，有在银行和保险
公司的。看有人说药厂的工作经验到换工作的时候是很难转的。那什么方向的工作经验
是越久越光明呢？
2学校的curriculum上有好多课程，有经验的兄弟姐妹们能帮我看看哪些课程的实用性
强么？里边有的应该是phd的课程，不知道我能不能选呢。我把一些我觉的不用选的和
不能选的课程删掉了。小硕就是10门课。

而且这个correlation随着node的距离增加而递减。
例如就说twitter上的trending top 10 topics吧，我不仅想研究全世界和全美的
topics，也想研究例如美国东部，南部，西部地区的topics，还有不同城市的topics。
例如讨论湾区的topics，是不是在南湾的也要算一点啊，是不是在加州的都要算啊？是
不是德州的同志也很关心加州的事情啊...

时候各个
都是SVM，kernel专家，等到deep learning 突然火了，一个个都想来分一杯，于是瞬
间就多了
那么多deep learning 专家。
如果中国科学家不改变这种跟风，赶潮流的态度，恐怕离科技强国还有很遥远的距离。
中国总是不缺乏获得自然科学一等奖却被发现什么鸟东西都不是的院士，和拿了诺贝尔
奖然而凭
不上院士的科学家。一个可以靠数数(论文)来评奖的体系，如何能期望鼓励产出原始创
新。
看他的论文，3-4年前还没有开始做deep learning，真正开始做deep learning来应用
到CV也就是
近2-3年的事情，2015年已经灌了101篇已发表论文了。就算说手底下有众多硕士博士，
但这
个频率也是够令人震惊(2天一篇?)，估计邮箱里光论文发表的相关邮件就能把他忙死吧
，还有什
么时间来研究deep learning？如果这都是2－3年就是专家，那专家的成本也未免太低
了点。
抛开民族仇恨不谈，中国的这些科学工作者真该向日本的科学家学习学习，能够耐的住
寂寞，

work with a lot of data backing it up and publications.
Personally, I believe my chairman is type 1, and I believe that's why he is
