今天是eugene 08 olympic trial 第一天。没有票当然不能进场，但是可以进入外围场
地。到处都是商家搭起的帐篷，当然是买东西了。特别是Nike，几乎把小商场搬来了。
场外是巨大的电视，现场直播。先是美国国歌，然后开始比赛。很有趣的是，我看到屏
幕上枪响，听到的却是从隔壁传来的枪声！这就是现场。美国的田径不赚钱，运动员怎
么办？原来大公司资助。大部分人受Nike, Adidas, Ascics 等公司赞助才来的。
值得注意的是现场的保安工作。开幕式没有烟火，却有美国空军的2架战斗机呼啸而过！
eugene 警察局的防炸弹卡车也出动了。但现场的警察不多。
Eugene市民也不含糊。已经有附近的居民打出"泊车，20块一晚"的牌子。 |

some compounds with some phenotype, then quickly go through clinical
trial without truly understanding the target(s) and mechanism. The end
result is endless lawsuits, wasted money in clinic trials and recalls.

rule. If they said yes, then you can; if they said NO, then you cannot.
I just wonder why you chose to disrespect a court. Is there any meeting which
is more important than facing a judge for making yourself clean?
Try to respect the law and the judge. Even if you are allowed to postpone the
trial, you will lose some credit anyway in judge's mind.

What's the meaning for On-Call for Civil lawsuit trial?
I had a car accident back in Jan 2005. And my rental car company and I was
sued after the failure of the settlement. When the accident happened I had
insurance via the rental car company. I received a letter from the lawyer of
my rental car company asking me to sign On-call form for appearance at trial.
My question is whether I am obligated to appear in the court? If there is
schedule confliction, could I be waived from the on-call? And |

大家穿得都很随意，没必要西装领带，这么穿得都是犯了比较大的事得，至少
misdemeanor了，
还有第一次上庭一般都是arraignment， 你这种遇到nice的judge 直接dismiss了 |

several class with a certificate. if u took those classes already, throw in
ur resume, i think several big biotech companies are hiring clinical trial
RAs in bay area. i heard that some RAs in there only input data daily, hehe |

厂关心的东西
（比如这两年的adaptive design）直接相关，否则什么topic都多少能挨上点儿边。况
且药厂也不
全是clinical trial。Pre-clinical, biomarker什么的也都需要人。所以你做missing
data, longitudinal, survival, categorical, functional data, model
selection, pathway analysis, genetic epi什么的都能扯上关系。可能唯一和药厂离
得远一
点儿的是time series, PCA什么的。但是我也不觉得会有什么很大的区别。主要的还是
能找份
intern，建立connection比较有用。clinical trial用到的统计知识很有限的，更多的
是PM,
communication skills这些soft skills比较有用。 |

Make decision on which trials are needed on compound submission, to determin
dosage or access efficacy/safety. People in this level will not involved in
detail work of each single trial, instead they just outsource everything
and function as a oversee people.

想着毕业了也能找到这方面工作。结果最近看了一圈下来很受挫。几乎所有的opening
都需要工作经验。工作经验都是从无到有的，如果clinical trial 都只招experienced，
那现在在做这一行的是不是都是从其他相关部门转的啊？否则没有工作经验找不到工作，
没有工作又谈何工作经验啊？想问问大家像CRA，medical monitor associate等相关
工作的entry level该怎么入行呢？
我有MD background，国内三甲医院临床工作过；在美国有大药厂biostatistician
的intern经验；学校做TA，RA都是和health research相关的。不知道这能不能算是
相关经验啊？如果有人知道有相关的opening，能否给个referral，重谢！得抓紧找工
作给娃挣尿布钱啦 :) |

那么计算P value时，是不是应该依照如下计算

总觉得需要加乘一个combination(M,1)
