希望对想要买而没有买，或者已经买了准备+硬件的版友有用
网上关于这个机子已经有很多hype，一直想买她但是对小本无爱，连SONY Z也一直属于
睡着的状态。
我对自用笔记本只注重质量，基本不注重价格，高端机有过 Thinkpad T41, T60, T60p
, T61p,
W500, W510, W700,X61s, x200s, X201s, X300.
Dell Alienware M11x, M15x, Precision 4400m
HP Elitebook w8540w
SONY Z 1190X, 1390X
W8总体感觉，是在同重量等级里面，算好的。唯一不满意的是屏幕分辨率（我有点高分
控），屏幕
panel 还OK。
以下从重量，开机，基本性能，+内存，硬盘展开说一下
重量：裸机+电池 - 2磅15盎司，是我用过的电脑里最轻的 - 没试x61s 估计还是W8轻

整个机身镁铝合金，质感非常不错，很结实。 |

这次tsla Q1数据这么明显的利好，你都能看错。我觉得虽然你没有持仓，但是你的看
法却严重的biased。没有持仓不能成为unbiased的充分条件。不知道你是否受之前被大

男女有差别没错，但是他文章里的差别没有数据依据，比如男性平均身高高于女性，
testosterone分泌多，甚至于男性容易患某种疾病，而是一些模糊的男人喜欢东西，女
人喜欢跟人打交道之类社会trace，他的所谓科学依据是一些fringe 伪科学，甚至有
Wikipedia。说女性更喜欢表面的美所以做前端的多更是无知
2. 女性在高科领域人少的原因是因为这些工作不吸引她们
这是假命题，且不说高科工作方方面面，他的这种思维正是让很多女孩却步的原因，因
为你要付出比男性更多的努力得到认可，因为他们假定你是不能胜任的。现在的面试过
程是男性为主导定义的，在白板上侃侃而谈很多女性都不是强项，但不说明她们编程不
好，而是confidence
level不够，这个也是多年社会压力的结果

为啥平方呢？一平方，负的就变成正的了。
总不能把正正负负的errors直接加起来吧。
为啥不取绝对值呢？取了绝对值，你的目标函数就是折线了，求导不方便。
而2乘法出来的函数，光滑完美，一求导就得出唯一的最小值，
高斯的beautiful mind!
为啥不用4乘？导数为零的地方不止一处你还得考虑global optimal的问题。
爱因斯坦说了，science should be simple.
当时的故事是这样的，高斯发明最小二乘法之后不久，
马科夫就证明了最小二乘法是best linear unbiased estimator
that minimizes the variance of errors.
这是多么丢人的一个证明啊，variance本来就是用二乘defined
人家高斯根本不屑写出来。
所以，为啥大家都用二乘法，
因为它1）是高斯发明的 2）简单、大方、直观、完美。Math is a art!

背景： midwest一州立大学 实验物理PhD 然后在东海岸另一州立学校博后3年 无绿卡
有H4 EAD 全部自学 onsite面试了google, facebook, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac,
Capital One, comscore和两个小公司的SDE，data scientist, stats还有quant职位
电话面试挂了amazon 和 Bloomberg 最后收到一个quant offer
几点感想：
1. 首先一定要有信心，大部分理工科PhD应付现在这些热门专业其实都绰绰有余，当然
你得花时间，要少走弯路，要多刷题，这些热门方向都是相通的，总体就是你要有

bit odd to see a realtor has the nerve to say there exists an

good a High School is. State API and/or Greatschools.org ratings are skewed
and unobjective.
Please review the calculation method they used to derive the API score in
the CA dept of education:
