最常翻译成英文新约里“Lord”的希腊词是“kurios”,说的是某个有权力、所有

John 1:1-3
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; an
d without him was not any thing made that was made."
Problem:
This passage is usually the chief reference on which the pre-existence and d
eity of Christ are argued.
Solution:
Christ was not literally the Word. He was the word "made flesh". (vs. 14). T
he Greek word "logos" translated "Word" expresses the divine intention, mind

来自主题: TrustInJesus版 - Why calvinism's "Totoal Depravity" is wrong ZT
Calvinism consists of theological doctrines which use words found in the Bib
le. However, Calvinism consistently redefines those words, takes them out of
context, applies the doctrines inappropriately, exaggerates the meaning of
the words to the extreme, or in some other way distorts the Word of God to m
atch the theology written by John Calvin in his book, Institutes of the Chri
stian Religion. The following is a typical definition of Total Depravity, th

1 Corinthians 6
1 If any of you has a dispute with another, do you dare to take it before t

know that the Lord's people will judge the world? And if you are to judge t

at we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! 4Therefore,
if you have disputes about such matters, do you ask for a ruling from those

CHAPTER III
Of God’s Eternal Decree
I. God, from all eternity, did, by the most wise and holy counsel of his own
will, freely, and unchangeably ordain whatsoever comes to pass:[65] yet so,
as thereby neither is God the author of sin,[66] nor is violence offered to
the will of the creatures; nor is the liberty or contingency of second caus
es taken away, but rather established.[67]
II. Although God knows whatsoever may or can come to pass upon all supposed
conditions,[68] yet hath he not decreed ... 阅读全帖

CHAPTER VI
Of the Fall of Man, of Sin, and of the Punishment Thereof
I. Our first parents, being seduced by the subtlety and temptation of Satan,
sinned, in eating the forbidden fruit.[124] This their sin, God was pleased
, according to his wise and holy counsel, to permit, having purposed to orde

II. By this sin they fell from their original righteousness and communion wi

Good Intentions Gone Astray
No one has ever been as successful as John Calvin at totalitarian imposition
of "godliness" upon a whole society. And therefore no one has proved as cle
arly as he that coercion cannot succeed because it can never change the hear
ts of men. Calvin's theology as laid out in his Institutes denied that unreg
enerate man could choose to believe and obey God. Apparently he was ignorant
of the commonsense fact that genuine choice is essential if man is to love
and obey God ... 阅读全帖

CHAPTER IX
Of Free Will
I. God hath endued the will of man with that natural liberty, that it is nei

II. Man, in his state of innocency, had freedom, and power to will and to do
that which was good and well pleasing to God;[206] but yet, mutably, so tha

III. Man, by his fall into a state of sin, hath wholly lost all ability of w
