I see. How should we interpret the 4% number for Java then. I guess my
question really is why this data showed Java being very UNpopular for server
side development. It does not sound logical to me.
Let's not try to focus on java vs .net war. I have no issue with the 20% .
net number in that statistics. But I have a very hard time understanding the
4% java number.

You may not like this:
1. Django is dying
2. Using jQuery directly, becomes unpopular (for too legit many reasons!)
3. Angular is THE ONE so far.
On the server side, it is still whatever you like because all you need are
rest services. But in long run, it seems only 3 things matter (to your next
job):
1. Java. Too big to fail.
2. .NET obviously;
3. NodeJs

1. 描述一下当你遇到困难处境是如何解决的;
2. 当你做很多事情时,你是如何处理priority的;
3. 和你工作的人,有的比较tough,你怎么处理的;

pick up some personal projects and work on them. like creating a chat-room
application, a shop cart web application. try master the popular programming
languages like Java, C#, Python, Perl, etc. I think for who has biology
background, Perl or Python is a good choice. Of course C/C++ never becomes
unpopular if you are serious of turning into a professional programmer.

Biology must develop its own big-data systems
Too many data-management projects fail because they ignore the changing
nature of life-sciences data, argues John Boyle.
The last week of April was designated Big Data Week. But in modern biology,
every week is big-data week: life-sciences research now routinely churns out
more information than scientists can analyse without help. That help
increasingly comes in the form of expensive dat...

ft. come up your ugly claim again.
Frankly speaking, your advisor's claim is bluffing. Cause he just simply lose
funding if he dares to praise those illionis' work.
I just simply believe in 1) top journals 2) first hand materials.
What you saying is 1) your boss comment (second hand materials) 2) unpopular
journals (your tech never appeared on Nature).
one more comment: this illionis group will get more fundings than your boss
because of this nature paper.

I really think it's a naive question. Please refer to Wikipedia for more
concrete definition (my man, it's not block in US). Here I quote:
two main principles:
1. that academics, both inside and outside the classroom, have
unrestricted liberty to question and test received wisdom and to put forward
controversial and unpopular opinions, whether or not these are deemed
offensive, and
2. that academic institutions have no right to curb the exercise of this
freedom by members of their staff, o

Finite element is not as easy to apply as finite difference. It remains
unpopular in the US, I believe only a few French in this world still
actively researching on FE.
A good FE method requires a good meshing technique, which appears way harder
than building a grid for FD. It is not uncommun to hear that in some
industries like car making , there is a job called "mesher", for those who
try to find best possible mesh everyday...

Why I Am Leaving Goldman Sachs
By GREG SMITH
TODAY is my last day at Goldman Sachs. After almost 12 years at the firm —
first as a summer intern while at Stanford, then in New York for 10 years,
and now in London — I believe I have worked here long enough to understand
the trajectory of its culture, its people and its identity. And I can
honestly say that the environment now is as toxic and destructive as I have
ever seen it.

10 things I hate about you,

even different from the Gulf war because of 9/11. the audience may favor the

Federal Press—Amid heavy security, the unpopular president arrived in
Denver today for a fundraising event. Although it was raining this afternoon
, many Denver residents came out to protest the president's arrival. "I want
him to know that we don't welcome him in our city," says Tom ***, an

Police Department estimated that there were approximately 1,000 protesters along the 1st Avenue.
