第一优先类型占用了每年职业移民名额总数的28.6%，约40,000个。所有第一优
先的申请都必须向移民局提交I-140申请表格。
第一优先类型包括三个具体的分类：
o 专业领域的杰出人才 EB-1(a)：
EB-1(a)申请中的职业人才应为在其专业领域具有特殊才能和具有很高成
就的杰出人才。这些专业领域包括艺术、科学、教育、商业、体育。要满足EB- 1(a)的
要求， 申请人必须提交足够的证明材料以证明申请人在其所在领域内所获得的杰出成
就，希望未来继续朝此专业贡献于美国。申请人在进行申请时并不需要已经在美国获得
