人平地正常行进速度是5km/h,这个还是uphill

Here are my picks for packages. Bear in mind that when most people choose
ski packages, they only think about the Downhill performance for the DD runs
and not the uphill touring performance. My choices take into account
lightness and durability for all mountain conditions on long tours.

呵呵,不错,不过纠正一个单词,hypothermia,滑雪滑不出hyperthermia吧。。。
我刚开始学滑雪,上了五节课,每节课都有点进步,呵呵,窃喜,不过注意到自己
很多问题跟大家分享一下,一开始wedge的时候对膝盖伤害太大,第一天最后膝盖
完全都控制不了了,不过这个对初学者好像也没什么办法,毕竟对重心控制没那么自如
,而且对速度害怕。过了三节课之后就好了,基本感觉不到了。
instructor天天强调stance and balance,自己靴子的前部要能感受到自己的重量
只要感受不到了,基本就是你失控了,马上就要摔跤了
不要自己去扭着身子转动滑雪板,只要重心去了downhill ski,去感受很容易就转过去了
多在绿道滑,速度慢心态好比较容易学动作,动作练好了,直接可以滑所有蓝到,
不要在蓝岛练技术,呵呵。绿道多练习一些small radium turn
还有instructor说了几个对初学者我觉得挺有用的联系方法:
1. 两手各抓pole的两头,把自己的pole横过来水平,然后去滑,眼睛看前方
拐弯的时候注意pole还是水平的,你要扭上身,那pole肯定就斜了

常常在这儿潜水,看到不少有用的信息和游记。
十月初参加了在PA中部的Megatransect,还蛮有意思。
今年一月一个曾一起hiking的朋友给我发来MEGA的参赛邮件,于是拖着我的Hiking
buddy一起参加。 我认识的一共四人参加,Scott, Kevin, Tim, 加上我。
事情在最后一刻总有变化,9月中旬Kevin称大腿肌肉受伤退出,Scott在最后一刻改变
主意决定自己开车前往,但其实没有show up.
10月1日早上八点40,我们从Laconia出发,经过MA, CT, NY, PA, 沿途穿行I-93, 495,
90, 84, 81, 80, 长达500 miles, 在84上PA境内碰到好几处并道引起的堵车,近十小
时后终于抵达比赛场地,同时也是整个周末camping的地方。
停好车后,迅速领取了装有地图等其它物品的资料袋,开始一边吃着比赛方准备的各种
小食、水果,一边与其他参赛者交流。大部分都参加过一次或多次MEGA,给了我们很多
网上不能获得的信息和他们自己的感受。来之前,我已经决定要穿我的summer hiking

我只是在crystal试过两次downhill,没啥太大感觉。我的binding设得有点松,DIN才6
.5,很容易摔掉,这个没熟练地时候重穿起来很麻烦,可能我会找店里再调紧点。
还没走过uphill,这个周末是我们ski mountaineering的field trip,算是第一次派上
用场。

Finally I got to run at Independence Pass. My wife drove me up there, the
highest paved pass in Colorado. The
air was thin. My wife says she had a hard time breathing even when walking
on the pass. Then off I go. I was
hoping to run on a relative flat trail but soon realized that it was
impossible to find such a trail. I started at
12,100ft elevation and it's uphill from there. The wind was strong. There

This is my last run in Aspen. I was only supposed to do a 4-mile recovery
run according to the training plan,
but since I can't run tomorrow I decided to do a 20-miler today. I started
when it was raining, 46F. After 2
miles I threw my jacket to the side of the trail. I could tell that my legs
didn't really recover from the 11-mile
2 days ago. After 17 miles I was depleted. Empty. Nothing. Then it was

Our team of 9 successfully completed the 207-mile reach the beach relay,
Sept 18-19. Special thanks to tonyprince, a diver on this board, who signed
up a week before the race and became a core member of our team and handled
some of the toughest legs. Now a brief report.
On the overall, the course is pretty brutal. LOTS of hills. When they say
the difficulty of a leg is moderate, they meant hard with lots of hills.
When they say it's hard, they meant that it's crazy hard with long nasty

Compared to running, hiking uphill/downhill use your muscles differently.
same goes to skating, skiing, etc. It's not because hiking is harder than
running, it's rather that your muscles are less adapted to hiking than
running.

I've seen people running with stroller on the trail, and it should
be no problem. There are a couple of short steep uphills and
downhills, other than that it is mostly flat. Glad you can come!

yes, i measure my rest HR before i get up in the morning.
there are a few methods to measure max HR:
1. run 3x600m all-out uphills, jog back downhill.
2. run 800m all-out, rest for 2 min, then run 400m all-out.

did my first long run in mizuno wave rider today. The strategy was to run
downhill on forefoot and flat/uphill on my heels. It worked very well for
the first 8 miles. Then my left foot started to get really sore and I couldn
't run on my forefoot any more. Actually I could but it kind of hurts so it
wasn't worth it. When I started running on my heels again, it initially felt
really awkward. Then I realized that I needed to shift my upper body

i am not sure what speed i can run either.. will find out tomorrow.
the first half averages about 1% downhill, the second half is tougher,1%
uphill.
I will be happy if i can run the second half with 7:50/mi

The Original Marathon Route is 40km (not 42.195km): From Marathon Bridge to Olympic stadium in Athens.
Pheidippides indeed ran much longer than marathon: his 40km marathon run was just the last lag of his 165 mile run before and after the battle of Marathon.

查了一下,希腊13万2千平方公里,75%的陆地都是山区,无人居住或者无耕作的,1/3
的人口住在雅典,雅典是农业,金融和政治中心,东北边种植烟草,南部是水果和蔬菜
。可能也是为什么路线不可能太好。
如果去那边,可顺便看一下意大利和土耳其。希腊还算是发展中国家,旅游业收入占国
民收入比重最大。

除了rose bowl附近的3迈,大部分路面都是在有沙石的trial上,很容易崴脚。

The plan from AM was 18mi w/ 14mi at M pace. I decided to run the whole 18mi
at M pace anyway, started at M pace right from mile 0. After 3.5mi of
uphill, both of my calfs felt very stiff, to the point which I almost wanted
to give up. Maybe I didn't warmup enough? Maybe I didn't have enough sleep because of
Chinese New Year Eve? Or maybe I ran too hard at the MTM run two days ago?
I don't know. I had to stop and stretch them for a few minutes. Then I tried

I use to do some plyometrics drills when I was more interested in basketball/football than running. Haven't
been doing that in a while.:) I'm planning to do uphill sprints for strenth/strides and downhill runs for step
frequency.

actually hill repeat is pretty fun.:)
it's ok to run uphill even when you feel really tired, but walk downhill if
you have concerns on your knees.

i am running pasadena HM this sunday.
there's almost no flat surface, constantly going uphill or downhill...
for LAM, there are a lot of 50ft rolling hills, and generally going downhill,
which will put more stress on the quads and knees.

6 days in Paris, five runs. my favorite route is the out and back trip from
place d'itale to bois de vincennes, a
mile downhill, another couple miles through the hilly streets and finally
getting to the park. on the way back,
the final mile is a tough uphill climb. paris isn't the best running city.
unlike in the US, you can't run on the
streets because they are so narrow -- there are no shoulders at all. on the
other hand, the sidewalks seem to
be made out of asphalt rather than concrete, and a

I just drove from mile 5 echo park to mile 26 santa monica.
It has 500+ft elevation drop, not much uphill.
If the weather is cool, it will be as fast as CIM.

Two days ago, I did a run with 13-14mph wind. I read the weather forecast
but did not have a clue what was that mean until the run-:)
The end of the first lap I was running into the wind. I was very tired and
was thinking about giving up the planned second lap. But somehow, I did not
go home. The first 3miles of the second lap were not too bad until the last
mile which was into the direction of the wind: I did not think I was moving
forward especially with the little uphill...

Beautiful course! Sunny LA as expected! A few hills, but nothing like SF.
Last 6 miles were the hardest. Miles 20-23 uphill, and 23-26 downhill.
Just like doing a 10K through Golden Gate park eastbound, then westbound.
Going downhill to the finish line in last mile was great, but it still felt
and looked so far away..
SF must be much harder than LAM.

oakland half is pretty flat, a little downhills (50 ft elevation, maybe?) at
the beginning, and a little uphills (50-100 elevation) for the last mile or
so.
should be a good course for maintaining even pace

3 weeks' base building. week 1, 50 miles, 7:56 avg pace. week 2, 50.8 miles,
7:47 avg pace. week 3, 52.9 miles, 7:27 avg pace.
Had my fastest pace run today, 15.26 miles, 7:11 avg pace. Splits are
7:46, 7:13, 7:28, 7:17, 6:46, 7:18, 7:00, 7:25, 7:05, 7:21, 6:57, 7:19, 6:52
, 7:05, 7:10, last 0.26 mi @ 6:28.
The uphills and downhills can be seen from the mile splits.:)
Next week will be the first week of my 12-week AM 55-70 mpw plan. Looking
forward to it.

i think the advantage of having decline in your treadmill is that you can
simulate the elevation profile of any race course. For example Boston
marathon has a lot of downhills in the first half, then some uphills and
downhills in the second half. It's not that easy to find a route nearby
having the similar elevation profile.

At the beginning of this year, OMAO asked on the board what is our new year
resolution.
In my reply, one of them is to come to my dream place and run there. And
today this became true! I run longer than I prepared because I got lost,
which is because I was attracted by the palm trees, uphill, downhill, and
the fragrance of the flower-:)
Finished a 1500 mile driving in 2.5 days
On the road, I was thinking if I have not run that Marathon, I may not have
the patience for such a long drive.

To compress time, you can try to increase workout intensity.
e.g., run a faster pace or run uphills etc...

I am not sure about that, but i felt the run was easier today because this
beach bike path is pancake flat...
While at my home trail, i usually need to run -0.5% grade downhill on the
way out, then +0.5% uphill on the way back. This 1% grade difference makes
it much harder to run even split.
