knee more than running?
i just did a 5-mile hike over the weekend on a level c trail (bear mountain,
ny). we had to climb using hands for some part of the trial. after the
hiking, my knee hurts much more than a half marathon... | w****1 发帖数: 4931 | 2 I'd like to hear from experienced hikers about the use of hiking poles.
It seems quite important for serious hiking/mountain running. Even pro
ultramarathoners use them sometimes.

ones knees. | b***i 发帖数: 10018 | 4 Compared to running, hiking uphill/downhill use your muscles differently.
same goes to skating, skiing, etc. It's not because hiking is harder than
running, it's rather that your muscles are less adapted to hiking than
running.

| c****n 发帖数: 468 | 8 my taichi teacher often warn us about being careful with the knees, that is
not to put pressure on the knee when bending down the legs, instead the
pressure should go all the way down to your feet to the ground.
I suspect that if you hurt your knee in hiking, mostly likely you don't obey
the rule above.
