URGENT CARE就是介于家庭医生和医院的急诊室之间的一个看病的地方，它一般不需要
预约，是WALK IN，可以处理一些不是那么生命攸关的但却又让你觉得需要马上解决的
一些身体状况。比如哮喘，食物过敏，感冒，发烧，脚崴了， 呕吐，肚子痛，腹泻，
头疼，需要找家庭医生但是正好是周末或者晚上了，家庭医生不开门，头晕，小伤口需
要缝合，腰扭了，需要输液，吊盐水。父母来探亲没有保险，糖尿病，高血压。和急诊
室一样，
URGENT CARE可以马上当天就能看到医生，但是URGENT CARE的收费比急诊室便宜的多。
比如都是抽血，急诊室的收费标准和URGENT CARE的收费标准是不一样的，同样的服务，
URGENT CARE收费大概只有急诊室的25%。
那你就会问，为什么URGENT CARE会存在，因为现在急诊室的等待时间太长，很多病人
根本不需要去急诊室，
但是他们不知道URGENT CARE的存在，还是跑去了急诊室，结果就导致了急诊室的等待
时间越来越长，

发帖数: 4637 | 5 昨天去urgent care看一个小毛病，其实问题不大，就是想排查一下。自己的大学附属
医院的primary doctor要几天后才有时间，专科医生要动用关系，不想随便动用。就索
性去离家近的urgent care。第一次去这家，从进门到出来大概两个小时，中间等了很
久，护士来道歉。隐约听到外面在要求urgent referral, 估计是有重症要处理。
医生来了随意检查下就开抗生素，说年龄加risk factor因素不考虑malignancy, 抗生
素几天不改善再转专科继续检查。说还有上次流感痊愈以后遗留的偶尔的non-
productive咳嗽，不当回事，坚持了下让听下肺，听完说clear没炎症。
还是决定自己找本州最牛专科医生排除下放心。虽然我知道99.9%几率urgent care的全
科医生是对的。
主要的感想是看完北京中年以后，对比美国医疗资源和 accessibility 还是很好的。
Community hospital非常密集，条件也很不错。非急重症大部分就当下处理了。严重的
需要专科的层层网上refer。最疑难的到高校附属医院，这些医院水平都相当不错，世

visit. My insurrance (Blue Shield and Blude Cross PPO) should cover this
urgent care other than the $15 copay. But the bill said I need to pay an
deductable more than the copay.
Called BSBC whoe said the clinic sent a outpatient claim not the urgent care
one. And I should call the clinic to ask them to resent the bill.

ER cannot decline a patient even if he does not have insurance, but ER
charges much more than urgent care. That's why we suggest you not to sign on
any paper work in ER.
Urgent care usually needs insurance info of the patient, otherwise they may
ask you to pay up front, e.g. $300 .
If you don't want to worry about ER bill even if it is your grandma's

可能是菌。检查胧液，lab结果说是negative。这就奇怪了。晚上，吃了医生给的药，
全身发rash，第二天又去urgent care换了药，并打了一针。说药物过敏，第三天，脚
背红肿蔓延，发痒，倒底谁能看这个病？一般找什么地方看，看什么专家？英文怎么说
呢？我急死了。。。urgent care还是northside hospital的，这么大个医院，也不给

我脱水不给我点滴，说不需要。关门后去ER，护士马上给我上IV，马上症状缓解
我说了对乙酰氨基酚过敏，urgent care医生给我开的要里面居然还有这个成分，幸好
我拿了药仔细看了看。

自己说一侧耳朵痛，不是老说，就是晚上偶尔说一次。我们有些怀疑是中耳炎。今天给
ped打电话，她说今天没有空，所以让我们去urgent care。我的感觉是她觉得没有发烧
，可能不是，又不想承担责任。我觉得去urgent care是不是又有点小题大作了？后悔
当时忘了问她明天有没有空了。明天能再打电话问问吗？
再问一下urgent care的处理和emergency比较象，还是和普通office visit比较象？记
得以前有个妈妈说宝宝高烧去ER，就是一通各种检查。

顺便问问羊水的问题，昨天产检ob说羊水有些少，让多喝水，这个关系有没有很大？这

大医院的urgent care，是医生轮值，有时老资格医生也上。
至于该去ER还是urgent care，我觉得你自己应该有个sound judgement。
你或你小孩如果有哮喘或心脏等pre-existing condition,最好直接进ER，免得任何不
必要的状况。
要是你或小孩基本健康，只是可能一时性的病菌或病毒感染引起的高烧，而你有不想等
第二天再见你的医生，urgent care就是一个solution。
凡事不能一概而论，呵呵。。。 |

工作找上门，没来得及让我考虑一下，当场催着我签约了。终于硬着头皮和原来的老板
辞职了。在urgent care 上了两天班，还让我看post acute care pts, 看似不难，但
不知道看urgent care 和 PAC 这两类病人的风险是不是都比较大？有点害怕。关键没

Just walk in and make the appointment wait for the next available
pediatrician, usually less than 15 min.
You may not get the best pediatrician, but it's available.
Mountain View Adult Urgent Care: As of Tuesday, Mar. 26 at 3:27 p.m., the
wait time is 45 minutes - 1:00 hour.
