下次来做ultra sound确定预产期，第八周去做了ultra sound，又被收了copay，而且
之后还有账单。 我们的保险写的是第一次office visit 需要copay，以后跟maternity
相关的regular visit 费用都cover， 也不需要付copay。生产一次性copay 500。
第八周 visit 的时候问ob 为什么收 copay，她的解释是12 前可能流产，她没给我们
建档案，所以算成普通 office visit （第三次去看她了），这样合理吗？ 也不想和
她说太多，怕她不开心，就交了copay 走了，结果8周 ob visit后还出了个200多的账
单。
希望有经验的妈妈说说，有没有和她argue 的余地？ 下次去说还要做 ultra graphic
，不知道还会不会收费？
平时每个月的保险费挺高，感觉这个保险plan还行，就怕碰到个乱收费的ob，以后还有
掏很多钱。

刚收到系主任的确认email提到我second visit要见dean，行政人员和系里每一位TT教
授。这个系不是很大，大概有不到20个TT的教授，我第一次面试的时候已经和绝大多数
人meet过。想问一下second visit单独meet每一个教授正常么？会不会是他们还没有达

加上医生的体检和问诊时间共约30分钟，然后现在收到bill，医生收200多，医院收200

最多共200来刀。）这次这个费用这么离谱能argue么？在这家医院有个小插曲，就是本
来那次和医生见面，医生开好了B超和其他检查，但是后来因为其他原因和他们电话取
消了，自己去了另外的医院检查。
后来在另外一家医院查B超，是从其他医生那里开好了b超的order，和该医院约好了时
间去查的，查完后医生建议下次biopsy，所以理所当然作为病人问了点biopsy的问题，
期间医生还几次自夸她的资历和她的诊所，除外b超操作的整个谈话时间约15分钟（很
搞笑的是他们在b超报告里还专门写说我问问题问了30分钟）。然后来的账单就分两张
，一张是b超账单（近300刀），一张是visiting office的账单（本来100多，被保险公

My boss only wants to give me the title "Visiting Scholar".
As I understand, Visiting Scholar is often not salaried and typically for

Thanks to Chris Sanders this issue was resolved quickly. Today I received a
call from an administrator at the hospital who asked me if I wanted to come
and visit today. (which is unfortunate since I DO have a job!) but we set a
date for Weds. to visit, since I missed the ONLY real visitation on Sunday.
So, I am guessing that Chris put the fear into them! Isn't it fantastic

结要不要接受。请大家给些意见吧。一下是一些基本情况。
我是engineering里面比较热门的专业，在CA， boston，TX都有industry的机会，目前
也正在和一些大公司面试。这个offer是一个偏远地区的大学，专业排名大概是100名左
右。系主任说2011年秋季有tenure track的opening，会优先考虑visiting professor
，但是不能保证，因为要看teaching和research的表现。
因为女朋友要明年毕业（今年年底找），而且她的专业只可能是faculty。所以我一直
觉得我今年应该去找个牛校的postdoc，然后等她找到后，我明年再继续找faculty（希
望后年就可以在一起了）。但是postdoc也找的很不顺，几乎所有好点的学校都没有任
何消息，最近只好找industry的工作。
现在就比较纠结了，接受这个visiting的offer吧，如果明年没有拿到那个tenure的
offer，那我就会有身份问题，还得继续找其他学校或者ind |

Stock领域） 的机会
还没有拿到博士学位，目的是想多认识些同行，同时帮我看看写的博士论文，给提些修
改意见。
去做visiting scholar 就是做研究，写论文写书的。
如果是美国和英国的话，可能会申请到scholarship,不过不到一个月马上就deadline了。
别的地方我可以去给代代课，如果学校或者系里愿意付钱.
大概2011年6月以后才有空去做这个visiting scholar,所以现在可以切磋了解，看看我
是不是合适，互相帮忙。
我基本上除了睡觉就是干活，写东西，改东西。

途是什么？我一直在想。这种工作一般就聘三年。而且，期间主要是教课，research没
什么进展。以前网上看到过一个数学的phd当了7，8个 visiting assistant professor
，每三年换一个地方,挺折腾的。还看到一个学统计的phd，先开始是visiting
assistant professor，之后折腾了许多年，才当上tenure-track assistant
professor。大家说说大家的所见吧。有没有可能，这种非tenure-track的职位之后，
去当instructor，或lecturer呢？或是去teaching school谋个职，但又好像身份是个
问题。大家见过类似的例子否。多谢回帖！ |

发帖数: 1082 | 43 看你有多肯定要去了。就算在生物口大家一般都有2nd visit的情况下，一般花了学校
的钱去2nd visit基本上就是要去了，除非最后的细节怎么也谈不拢。
所以如果你觉得你肯定会去这，向学校要求个2nd visit也不是太过分。要是你还在考
虑几个地方的话，我觉得还是自己花钱比较好，这样将来如果觉得不去也没什么心理负
担。

chalk talk but invited my wife for a campus visit to discuss the two-body

Chair说 "we would like to invite you for a second visit where we will talk
about the detail of an offer"
但是这second visit约在两个月后
这是什么一个情形
