英国各地的方言和RP的区别我觉得比RP和美国口音的区别大多了，非要按地名说的话也
是牛津口音。

智商测试结果。我们也是头一回听说有正儿八经的地方可以测智商，而不是网上那
种 IQ TEST。照着申请材料提供的单子打了几个电话，终于预约了一位注册临床心
理医生，开车离家大约20分钟。
测试当天，跟孩子说了个大概，让他到时候别太调皮。扁豆问：有什么奖赏吗？扁
豆妈说：晚上去 Todai 吃自助餐。三人开车到了医生的诊所，先填了些表格，医生
就把扁豆领进去了。然后就是大约两个小时的等待。期间，经常听到扁豆那“嘎嘎”

确实很大。
多培养他们读书， 4，5年级以后他们就会自我开拓了。
写essay的能力是中学以后的了。 亚裔小孩可能特出彩有文学特长的不多。 但是写个
新闻描述个意见绰绰有余了。 现在media新鲜人， 校报投稿人之类的亚裔比例挺高的
。 一般公立小学里成绩最好亚裔比例比较高， 都是英语， 数学， 科学3高。 英文考
试成绩经常比老白老黑高很多。
私立学校的娃很多父母就是律师医生政客经理人， 靠嘴皮子和paperwork混饭的， 家
学渊源， 小孩笔头厉害是正常的。
你要有经济实力送私立就果断的送。
不过你要送10k or 12k以下的， 或者教会私立， 八成会后悔。 |

magnanimity这个词不合适，因为magnanimous是大气不斤斤计较的意思
薄瓜瓜想说的词明显是equanimity，就是革命烈士在刑场上从容不迫的意思

抛开自己的母语，寻找一个拉丁或希腊语字根改头换面，以此来炫耀自己的“博学”和
“正统”。
另外，中世纪的行会传统，使得各个行业的从业人员创造大量只有本专业的人才懂的“
黑话”，美其名曰“专业词汇”。就是故意为了让外行听不懂，以此来增强行业壁垒，
维持利益。
对于这一点，有一个笑话：香港在殖民时代，法庭使用英语。只见律师法官头戴假发、
念念有词，即便英语很好的人，也不知道他们到底在说什么。所以法庭气氛庄严肃穆，
听众鸦雀无声。回归祖国后，改用粤语，大家都能听懂了，结果无论原告、被告还是听
众，经常起哄发嘘：麻痹的原来你们一直是这样糊弄我们的啊！
其他的：英语还处于文言文时代，书面和口语相差巨大。大量繁琐多余的语法变形，都
是长期分裂封建制的遗毒。

写出来给我我看，我能看懂，但要我自己说的时候，我脑子里不会主动想到蹦出这个词
，处于灰色地带。就好比有的人名地名电影名字，要你说出来你说不出，但别人写出来
一堆名字给你认，你能迅速认出来是哪一个一样。所以老中接受信息还行，主动表达就
不行。另外既然是灰色词汇，那么反应速度就比熟悉词汇慢，因此纸上写的书面阅读能
认出来，别人口语说的时候，就可能时间来不及反应不过来 |
