发帖数: 1371 | 1 这个雪季雪下的比较多，所以ABasin的east wall三月份就开放了(去年四月底才开放，
前年没有开放)。
于是昨天扛着板子爬到east wall的山脊上，从north pole滑了下来。
用两张别人的east wall照片，自己做了标注：
要到north pole的顶点，需要从最高的lift顶端开始爬山，到了山脊上再沿着山脊上上
下下走一段。总共走了半个小时的样子（包括四处观望），elevation gain大约500尺。
比起去年五月，现在似乎雪还不算多，coverage有点不够。north pole的雪坡上有不少
石头突出。雪况其实不算差，不过我的雪板似乎有点窄了...腰只有80mm，其实还能凑
合，但是有点影响做动作的信心，滑的过程中有时很希望板变宽。

说实话，滑得比较矬。开始的第一个turn很糟糕倒是情理之中的。后来因为雪况和突出
的石头造成的恐惧感，中间还有一次用了falling leaf，一次坐地turn（视频里被剪掉
了）。到最后，可能是体力和信心快耗尽了，其实靠近底下traverse线路的地方已经不
陡了，还是只敢蛙跳，不能正常滑。

这部片子 ——《The wolf of wall street》已经有好几个人提过了，也勾起了我的兴
趣，毕竟我喜欢wall street的题材。打开小米盒子，在XBMC上找到了这部片子。居然
没有720P的HD版？OK, 将就看吧。。。
刚看了开头，Leonardo的几个像打了鸡血的镜头出现后，我知道我要失望了，他还是惯
常演一些。。。怎么说？。。。 一些“小痞子”一样的角色，也许在《Catch me if
you can》里好一点，但是我的参照对象是，以前演过《 Wall Street》1987/2010 这
类题材的角色， e.g. Michael Douglas。 我也知道， Leo的偶像是Robert De Niro。
而这后两位，恰恰也是我的most favorite ever film actors.
可是，Leonardo实在是差远了，是剧情在托着他，不是他在演戏。他在《The Great

我把switch连到另外一个wall plug上，电脑能申到IP、能连上网，所以switch应该没
有问题。我也拿了个原来用的router连到这个有问题的wall plug上，也是找不到IP。
更奇怪的事情是我的笔记本电脑能通过这个wall plug上网，但是我的台式机不能。
我也试过了正常的网线和交叉的网线，没有什么区别。
我现在怀疑这个wall plug有接触的问题，或者是电阻不正常？导致某些网络设备能连
，某些不能连。我没用过cable tester，如果用tester的话，能检查这种情况吗？尤其
是要检查一头是线，一头是插座的情况，cable tester能管用吗？谁有这方面的经验呢？

Sorry I can not input Chinese from this computer. My boss gave me half of a
day to do some research and tell him what is the difference between column
and wall (I think he meant shear wall, not retaining wall). He ask me to
research it from structural engineering view instead of geometrical view.
What come to my mind is: column mainly support axial compression force and
governed by compression; shear wall mainly support lateral force and
governed by shear.

上，有一道retaining wall,用来保持水土，不然后院有坍塌的可能。
我的retaining wall（45 foot long， 4 foot high)已经自然损坏，需要拆除重建。
但是，邻居坚持认为我家流到他家的雨水导致他的排水无法负担，暴雨后有时会被水淹
，要我1）将雨水改道 或 2)出钱修french drain,从我家一直修到他家后院，前院，在
通道街上。
我和city的人谈过，我家地势低，所以排水就是设计成通过他家到街道上。但是邻居坚
持要我选1 or 2,不然就不让用他家的后院修retaining wall。我问过几个公司，都说
从我这边修非常困难，因为后院没法开进挖掘机械.曾经有一家报价要将近1w (从他那
里修最多4-5k).
请问，这种情况下，可以申请court order使用邻居家的后院来修我的retaining wall
吗？

我猜，可能在一番政治角力下，民主党用 一部分 chain imigration control 换 DACA
，对自己的选民有个交代；
同时 trump 也可能 找到 bypass way 建 Wall；比如 基建大 bill 里划一部分；这个
期待的基建大bill 是民主党 愿意支持并乐见的，加上 2006 年就通过了 border 建
physical barrier的bill，这个是有 法源支点的，当时 奥巴/舒默/佩洛熙/H 等 都投

发帖数: 610 | 44 房子从去年十一月开始，发现主卧dry wall，dry wall和天花板交界的地方有水渍。上
周下雨，水渍更明显了。外墙是siding.隔壁房间外墙是brick,里面没事。阁楼上看过
了，没事。有一子下大雨，阁楼上也没看到渗水，都是干的，也没有任何水渍。
发几张照片，想听听大家的意见。
可能是哪里有问题？修修大概多少钱（8000 credit看来要陪进去大部分了）？dry
wall 要换嘛？ |

Paint your ceiling.
When ceiling paint dries completely, tape the edge of ceiling
Paint your walls
Key point: remove tape before wall paint dries completely!
Method 2:
Paint ceiling first
Paint your walls, but leave a little space next to the ceiling
Use a fine paint brush (油画笔) to fill the gap.
斜角刷子 is not that great, at least according to my experience.
装modeling盖住 may be a good choice, visual effect will be perfect. But to
install molding itself takes time and effect. |

retaining wall吗？
如果没有retaining wall是不是后院的土就会慢慢流失了，后院就会越来越小？会影响
房子的地基吗？
可是如果装了retaining wall好像又影响了后院的风景了。

暗了
这种halfwall的楼梯，感觉太土了点，:)，西雅图阴天多，half wall楼梯区域搞的像
小黑屋，然后上楼后的那一片也是黑漆漆的，这个是设计的问题
目前在打算用motion sensor light 临时过渡一下，后面还是要考虑换楼梯。
再就是，如果我不拆掉half wall, 但是在上面安几个类似窗子的东西，那个应该不要
permit吧？ |

本来有一个撞墙上的，坏了，打算换一个。到底是cart实用还是wall实用。感觉wall
mount安装复杂一点，cart比较占地方 |

发帖数: 302 | 50 Do you have electric tooth brush? I used to have one of the Philips brushes
that Costco sells. The bottom of the brush is two piece of magnet. Very
strong. They can stand on the wall by themselves if there is a nail behind
the dry wall. Costco still sells this kind. But the upgraded version is
pretty much all plastic and still costs as much.
Anyway, use a magnet such as the brush as a general guide and use the stud
finder to find the edge. You have to make sure you have good contact and
