"deal" as far as TJMaxx or Christmas Tree Shops etc everyday bottles are
concerned-but it is the lowest price these have been and they apparently
match some of the Pottery Barn kids backpacks and stuff. So even with a

因为春天即将来临，开始考虑是否要彻底关闭房子的暖风系统，但是下到工具间里，
发现原本就没搞清楚的water heater和water boiler我和老公现在看着更糊涂了， 没
办法，只能上论坛上来求助一下，今晚才申请了个账户， 发现貌似三天不能发帖， 所
以借老公的账户上来集思广益一下。
我的附图是刚刚照得， 根据人体探测器及肉眼扫描探测，图中标蓝色的为煤气管路，
标红色的为热的水管，标黄色的是我们自认为的热风管路，整个工具间左手还有一个落
地鼓风机，还有一个鼓风机是在阁楼，如需要，我也可以贴上来。
家里有两个heating zone, 一个是一楼，控制一楼和地下室，一楼是地面送风，地下室
是天花板送风。 一个在二楼，控制二楼天花板送风。 二楼可以单独关闭。一楼关闭时
二楼不能独开（以上都是我听来的，未经验证）
因为我们的water boiler和water heater感觉有连在一起的部分（因为天花板上塞了很

不易啊。
因为奶不够，宝宝一直混合喂养，到6个月断奶。一直买Nursery Water给宝宝冲奶粉。
直到昨天晚上发现这次买的nursery water换包装了，有个很显眼的Fluoride added。
隐约觉得这个词好熟悉，好像不是啥好东西，正好上周没买到nursery water，买了一
罐Gerber的PURE water，上面又明确写了no fluoride added.
于是google学习了一下，以前的说法是少量的Fluoride对宝宝能预防宝宝的蛀牙，但是
前几年American Dental Association (ADA)和CDC曾提出infant formula不能mix with
fluoride added water。因为有研究发现，过量的Fluoride对宝宝有害，可能造成
discoloration to adult teeth。Harvard最近一个研究还发现喝加Fluoride的水长大

发帖数: 395 | 38 water heater 很好换，如果地点不是很特殊的话自己完全可以搞定。我家的water
heater在车库，所以就是自己换的。我家离 Orchard Supply 近，所以就近买了一个，
差不了几个钱。Orchard Supply 的没有卡车租，就给它的 manager 讲清楚，用它的推
车拉回来（后来又给送回去），卸下来冷热水口，原样接上就好了。老房子是 cast
iron pipe 的可以再接一个绝缘的 nipple, 防止电腐蚀。热水口可以买一个带活瓣的
出口，减少热水自流失。另外再买一个大盘子，用于防止漏水。还要在买两条 strap
（卖water heater的附近有卖），钉在墙上 stud 防止地震
就好了。water heater 没有多沉，40 gallon 我一个人就抱上一尺左右的 tank base
上，小意思。不过换之前确实应该查清楚是否需要 permit.
另外，我换完后才发现，我原来的water heater 没有坏，就是 hot water 出口的垫圈

heater的内部有damage 吗？ 会影响water heater 的life 吗？ 怎么和installer
argue， 要重装一个估计是不太可能， 要discount？如果没有其它问题出现， 估计
installer不会理的。
2） 晚上回来用手摸了一下冷水管。突然发现离nipple 有好几个feet 远的地方都是热
的。过了10几分钟以后再摸摸， 只在离nipple 一尺以内 的地方有温度。 但好像cold

本人own一个condo unit上下三层我在第二层。
上星期五凌晨两点楼下老太上来敲门说自从1点听到滴水声，然后发现自己water
heater closet的墙壁是湿的，然后上来看我的water heater，果然是漏了，我的water
heater closet地毯是湿的。然后我就把自己water heater水阀门关掉，然后我们下楼
检查她的closet，老太指着墙上突起的部分说是被滴水弄得，我说不大可能在一个钟头
内滴水滴成把墙壁都弄突起了，然后就留了电话号码。
第二天一大早call faster water heater company就把water heater换掉了，我原来的

1. Turn off cold water inlet valve A.
2. Open any one of hot water valve. Make sure cold water is off.
3. Turn off gas valve B.
4. 接个garden hose from water heater drain valve C to sum pump 或接个桶。
5. Open water heater drain valve C。 直到没水为止。
6. Cut off water heater 的进出水铜管with tubing cutter在water heater上大约6
吋的地方D。
7. 用管扳子拧开煤气接口E。
8. 搬走old water heater.
9. 用扳子拧下旧锅炉上那俩个进出水铜管（靠下拧，别拧瘪了）, 安原样装到新锅炉
上 with Teflon tape. 拧紧。 进出水铜管套上个coupler (就是个两吋长的铜管 from
HD).

The water softener will be installed in the basement to soften all the water

The plumbing company quoted a price of $600 for all materials/labor, is it
too expensive? They claim that it will take a whole day for the installation.

个新的
water heater和sump pump,sump pump的备用电池也给换.但是要自己出600刀,plumber
说原价
要750,给我优惠100刀,如果我付cash的话,再减50.
plumber说600刀cover搬走旧的water heater和安装expansion tank(我原来的water
heater没有),还有sump pump的备用电池的safety box.比较奇怪的是,因为water
heater的井
水管和出水管上面的阀门有点漏水,需要换阀门,这个是home warranty管的,可是
plumber说在换阀
门的时候,需要换一部分水管,home warranty不管这个,因为水管没坏,所以这部分我要
自己出钱.这

plumber说换water heater要1500多,换sump pump300多,还有换sump pump的电池,安装

击声音。后来仔细听，发现声音是从二楼之上的attic里面的water heater发出的。这
种声音是只有在gas water heater在燃烧gas，给加热的时候，从water heater上发出
的，没5-10秒钟，发出一下沉闷的打击声音。家里的water heater有异常的响声，怎么
回事？
这个water heater产于2003年3月，被使用了也有9年多一点了。
有明白的，懂的，告诉我为什么在take a shower之后，water heater进入冷水在加热
时，会出现这种沉闷的打击声音，没5-10秒就来那么一下子，直到water heater不加热
了，这种异常的响声才消失。怎样做，需要做什么，才能让water heater不在出现这种
异常声音。

1） 装好了以后， 发现表面有dent。bottom 有一个小dent（见照片1）。 water
