p*l 发帖数: 1359 | 7 成像上他们应该用的不是confocal。confocal对单分子探测有点够呛。我印象里就是个wide field microscope,用EMCCD成像。
所谓zero-mode waveguides,就是激发光只可能在这个纳米大小的小孔内有,漏不出去。所以只有进入了这个小孔的荧分子才可能发光,其他在溶液里的荧光分子,根本不会有信号。成像上不需要考虑背景信号问题,一般的wide field fluorescence就可以了。

SOA)和一些无源waveguide device,SOA需要接电流, 它的p type镀有Ti/Pt/Au 电极
,chip背面是N type, 镀有Ni/Au 的薄模。
现在要设计一个Submount,就是为了给SOA供电,自己对这种Submount不太懂,是这样
设计的:一片PCB的上面分割成两个单独的区域,A区域是是接正电极,B区域接负电极
。正电极和chip的p type连接用 wire bonding的方式,那chip的N type 如何连接PCB
的负电极?用什么导电胶来粘,还是怎么办?
另外,我的这种Submount设计对吗,似乎google不到相关的资料。谢谢建议 |

波导长度~800um.发现奇怪的是加几个mA电流,都有光发出来。本来是用来做成光放大
器的,现在有光出来,就不好了。
查了商业的半导体光放大器,典型的工作电流都在500mA, 我做的怎么加几个mA 就出光
了?要命的是就想让它有放大作用,不能出光啊,难道增加偏置电流会确会使半导体光
放大器变成一个light source? 谢谢解惑! |

j****n 发帖数: 3465 | 17 首先检查一下绝缘层SiO2质量,有可能SiO2层绝缘性能不够造成漏电;其次,也许在开
SiO2窗口那一步控制得不好,造成窗口过大,偏置电流从侧向加载进去了;再者,仔细
检查一下Electrode Pad及其附近区域是否有漏电现象。
另外,SOA其实从其增益原理上讲,与FP激光器并无区别,只不过采用镀膜手段抑制了
光反馈效应,从而抑制了lasing。
从你叙述的现象来看,基本可以肯定所产生的光是荧光,不会有几个mA就能激射的情况
。你有没有测过产生的光功率是多大?

1.To keep the same current density on the waveguide, the bias current for
the middle contact is always 1.8 times larger than that of the contact 1 and
contact 3. If I inject current for all three contacts, the center lasing
wavelength would be around 1546nm. See the attached picture.
2.We made this FP laser on our own with a pretty standard procedure, and the
commercial available substrate is InP with 6 AlGaInAs quantum wells (Well:

You also need to consider the heating effect. I noticed that the driving
current is so different: injection with all regions 20mA, region2 80mA, and
region3 120mA. 20mA is the pretty standard for this type of laser.
When you only inject current into certain region of your laser waveguide,
the other region becomes absorber, and force you to inject more current into
it to get enough gain. If no temperature effect, the more current you |

waveguide facet 镀膜及加工7度角成本较大,就没作。如果没做这些处理的话,出来
的是一个标准的FP laser diode。这个laser diode 在30mA 就发激光@1540nm
wavelength.
请问:在加电流小于30mA时,这个laser diode 能用作semiconductor optical
amplifier吗?自己简单测了一下,好像不能放大光在1540nm.但不清楚为甚么?还是我

m*******r 发帖数: 16 | 25 It can be called SOA below thrshold. But the fiber-to-fiber gain might be too small (cannot compensate your loss due to the fiber coupling etc). You coupling loss depends on your alignment, waveguide structure, fiber type etc, could be more than 6 dB easily.
AR coating should be about $1000 per run. |

choose right compute step sizes for XYZ directions.
For example, to calculate the Neff of 0th order mode in a slad waveguide,
say 15um slab width, keeping a same X domain as -50um~50um for all the cases
. 0.05 step size will have Neff=3.360727, and 0.02 step size will produce 3.
363853, and 0.01 size will lead to 3.364009. Smaller compute size will
always have a better accurate result?? But take too much time.

高(slightly
higher than 50 ohms),尽量minimize conductor loss,所以得把signal和ground之
间的间距做的比
较大,但是因为我们用来测量cpw的picoprobe的pitch比较小,所以在cpw的两端必须要
把这个间距降
低。但是降低间距的话,characteristic impedance就会降低,这样和probe之间就有
了一个
impedance mismatch。
大牛们觉得怎么在减小cpw间距的同时minimize loss??简单的用一个linear taper可
以吗?

waveguide的project以后找工作还是很辛苦的。说实话, 在英国我目前还没有找到可
以接口的找industry工作的方向, 唯一能做的是process engineering。 美国估计能
好点, 应该会有start up company出现, 还守着硅谷, 应该可以在未来几年雇一批
人。 最好是有点CMOS background, silicon photonics就是CMOS的延续, 基础很重
