物理界在1880年代就提出暗物质的猜测。一开始是因为银河系外围恒星的切向飞行速度
太快，银河系核心被观测到的质量远远不足以提供所需的向心力。后来在20世纪发现同
样的问题也出现在更大的尺度上，星系团（Galaxy Cluster）和超星系团（
Supercluster） 外围成员的切向飞行速度也是数倍于核心重力能维持的范围。如此一
来，只有两个逻辑可能，第一是每个星系（Galaxy）都有大量不参加强作用力（否则会
与原子核有反应）和电磁力（否则会与电子和质子有反应）的暗物质；第二，是广义相
对论的重力方程式在星系以上的尺度必须有新修正项。
近年来，用各种间接手段观测到的暗物质重力效应越来越多，要靠修改重力方程式来满
足所有的观测结果也越来越难自圆其说，所以暗物质就成为天文物理界的主流理论。

大质量弱相互作用粒子(Weakly interacting massive particles，简称WIMP)，是一种
仍然停留在理论阶段的粒子，是暗物质最有希望的候选者。理论预言这种粒子应该有以
下两个特点：
1. 粒子只通过弱核力和引力产生相互作用，或者粒子的相互作用截面小于弱核力作
用截面；
2. 与普通粒子相比质量较大。
由于它们不参与电磁力作用，因此无法被直接探测到；由于它们不参与强核力作用，因
此它们基本上与普通物质不发生相互作用；由于它们较大的质量，因此它们运动的速度
相对缓慢，因而能够成团聚集。根据以上特点，WIMP被认为是最有可能的“冷暗物质”
候选者。
现在很多实验正在寻找在理论上的“大质量弱相互作用粒子”(WIMPS)的粒子，它最有

高能就是要找一些new physics现象 比如超对称模型里的已知粒子super partner 新的
夸克 甚至希望撞出wimp之类的暗物质粒子 能不能撞出来纯粹是猜 都是未知 不像
Higgs是已经有圣经一般的标准模型给出严密描述了 容易找一些 也更有理由去找
这种基础理论研究不适合中国搞 也许可以获取一些精密仪器和技术 训练一批硬件和数
据分析人才 但是回报远远低于巨量的资金投入 实在是不值得 |
