A scientific mission ship, trapped in dense pack ice off East Antarctica
since Christmas Day, is close to being rescued as a Chinese icebreaker nears.
The crew can see the Snow Dragon icebreaker, which will try to cut a path
through the ice allowing the research vessel to reach open water.
The Russian Academic Shokalskiy ship has 74 on board and is being used by
the Australasian Antarctic Expedition.

战斗死亡（battle deaths 或 death due to hostile action）
阵亡（killed in action，KIA）
伤死（died of wound，DOW）
失踪死（missing in action, presumed dead，MIA）
被俘死（captured, declared dead）
战斗负伤（wounded）
非战斗死亡（non-battle death）
疾病
其中阵亡和伤死的分别在于是否死于医护场所，如果在后送就医途中死亡，仍然计入阵
亡，如果在医院死亡则计入伤死。一般中文里说的“阵亡”其实相当于“战斗死亡”，
由于中文翻译上与美军使用名词不见得一致，所以有时会产生一种误解，以为伤死不计
入死亡名单，这当然是错误印象所致。就如下面美军在伊拉克战争的死亡名单及人数，
到2008年2月2日止共3,945人，而其中有许多都是在美国和德国医院中的伤死（DOW）：

were caused by any M43 bullet, Chinese or Soviet.
The So called weapon experts here are basically bullshiting.
An American doctor inspected more than 700 wounds from M43. He didn't mention anything like a bullet split into pieces. Mostly the damage to soft tissue were not that bad. |

marine的伤死比是陆军的2倍，也就是说同样数量的战死，陆战队的伤员会比陆军多出

朝鲜战争中有中美战史上光荣的一页，那就是长津湖战役。当时，美军分东西两线向中
国边境挺进。其中东线为由ALMOND将军指挥的第十集团军(X CORPS)。其攻击目标是中
朝边境的长津湖区域。该地又称长津水库，是一个将长津江截流形成的人工湖泊，上有
水电站若干。 美军前锋已到鸭绿江边，对着对岸，向江中小便（注一）。
X CORPS司令ALMOND给其师长们的指令是：“Don't let a bunch of Chinese
laundrymen stop you." 在美国排华法案下，美国华人从事的主要职业就是开洗衣店。
而且开洗衣店还被美国当地政府制定歧视性条款加以限制。旧金山市政条例就规定，洗
衣店不能开在木头房子里，结果有华人不服，继续在木房子里开洗衣店，被逮捕入狱。
这是一个著名的案例。在朝鲜战争前，美国加州宪法的人权法案部分有一章CHINESE例

showing the wound was caused by the knives? Where's the forensic report
on any wound mark on the fishing boat captain's hand showing he was the
one wielding the knife at the time?
And wasn't just a few days ago when they say the weapon was a piece of
broken glass? With so many version of story, their words don't hold any
