115 | 4 Yes, because they have to save the ass of weakest clients before saving
themselves. At least that was the case in 1996 disaster. |
for |

115 | 22 And weather condition... most of rescues were under very bad weather. |
115 | 28 Can you predict the weather precise enough now?
The weather changed within hours on high altitude... |
m***h 发帖数: 23691 | 29 when weather changes, just go back. |
T*********e 发帖数: 39815 | 30 ah? how?
B*******s 发帖数: 115 | 31 You are partially right, though.
Rob Hall (the guide) should turn back before 2:00 pm but he waited for Doug
Hansen (client) until 4:00 pm on May 11, 1996 and encountered a storm soon
after and both died. |
m***h 发帖数: 23691 | 33 An experienced guide should know how to handle it. |
T*********e 发帖数: 39815 | 35 not necessary to be true
116 | 42 I am fine with whoever do whatever with their life or money;that's their
choice. But since such "reckless" behaviors may endanger the guide (though
they paid for the service but did they pay for the guide's life?), other
team members, and rescuers etc, I just cannot agree with such act and no way
respect the so-called "courage" or "determination". |
B*******s 发帖数: 115 | 43 You really want to read the book "Into Thin Air" to understand this.
It is impossible to consider everything before hand and taking no risks.
Then again, you won't climb Everest if you do not want any risk. |
13580 | 46 actually, minutes, hehe |
m***h 发帖数: 23691 | 47 If I decide to take the risk, I wouldn't complain about losing my life. |
c*******r 发帖数: 13580 | 49 oh yeah, simplest way is stay home and all troubles saved |
