Position Description
The School of Dentistry is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to study oral
bacteria-induced inflammatory immune responses in a dynamic well-funded
research group, the Center of Oral Health and Systemic Disease (OHSD)
University of Louisville. This three year, NIH-funded project, aims to
elucidate the molecular mechanism of a novel serine/theronine kinase in P.
gingivalis-mediated inflammation responses in vitro and in vivo.
Responsibilities include performing in vivo and in vitro experiments for
characterization of the functional role of serine/theronine kinases in oral
bacteria-induced immune responses using various inflammatory mouse models.
Techniques include, but are not limited to, Western Blot, ELISA, gene
silencing, quantitative RT-PCR, routine transgenic and knockout mice
husbandry, and immunohistochemistry. Applicants should have a Ph.D and/or MD
in Immunology and Microbiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Molecular and
Cell Biology, or a related field. Candidates should be highly motivated,
with a strong work ethic and have the ability to work independently as well
as in collaborative research efforts. Strong knowledge of immune signaling
pathway and bacterial culture are highly desirable.
Pease send your CV, a cover letter expressing your research experience and
interests, and the names and addresses of three references to:
