where did you graduate - aka. does your school have any sort of actuarial
recruiting on campus? even as an alum, you can still benefit from this!
how's your english? general interview skills?
where in CA are you?
internships?
etc. etc..... it's hard to say anything just knowing that you've got 2
exams and won't need sponsorship... |

My suggestion is if you cannot land an actuarial job then try to get into
other departments first inside the company and switch to actuarial later.

I think my real question should be: Not requiring sponsorship will help me a
lot?
To be honest, I am not very confident about myself at everything you
mentioned but I am working very hard... My school is good, but not the top
ones (and not in CA).I am in CA now (very close to San Francisco, LA). No
internship, but several years’ research assistant experience (I know it
does not count).
I do hope that the green card will cover my other weaknesses...

insurance company? Because the HR will not risk himself for getting a person
who will highly possible to transfer to other departments. |

你又不需要sponsor,机会挺大

s**********l 发帖数: 629 | 8 If you can find companies from CA conducting on-campus interviews from your
school (regardless of whether the school is in CA itself or not), then you'
ll have significantly increased your chance of getting an actuarial job in
CA. Otherwise, it really depends........ most entry level actuarial
positions are filled from on-campus recruiting......
