devoted to dental only with few actuaries and he had to do a lot of misc
stuff. Of course, he's entry level.

a small line(or sub-line) of product which does not require
much actuarial work, but i guess i was wrong.

Yes, there are companies (for example mine) that has actuaries who do dental
pricing only.
It might sound not so actuarial, but the products can get pretty creative. |
