他们2个的课程都设在继续教育学院下，基本都是晚上上课。
想问下美国的大学的继续教育学院是什么性质的呢？和我们国内的那种一样吗？
请问下这样的性质是不是和我们国内的函授课程，在职研究生差不多？含金量是不是不
高，而且回国或者在美国得不到正式的研究生那样的承认度呢？

但是我是学生，full-time去读，我就怕学位得不到承认。。。 |

Depends on if you prefer Boston area or NYC area, both for study and career
after graduation.
From what I see, good students, even without Green Card, can find an
internship and then full-time job after graduation. I know plenty of
successful examples from both school. They are all fairly expensive compare
to other actuarial science programs, but it seems to me that such an
investment is worthwhile. Sometimes the brand names do carry some weight.
Don't worry about fulltime study in a night time program. It's very common
in big metro areas where there's lots of working professionals. And believe
me, employers generally do not care. |

不管什么继续教育学院 只要能找到工作即可 不可处虚名而处实祸啊
我知道哥大 基本精算好的企业 都会去找 到时候 你自己在career center 上投
同时哥大 每年的精算招聘会 也在那 到时候 你都不用走路
地方也都很好
你自己看吧 |

主要是因为，假如，假如不能留在美国。那就很可能得回国了。回国的话，文凭性质还
是比较重要的。。。。

其实我正在悉尼这边读精算，但是这边的师资和毕业后的就业机会真的太小了。
所以正在考虑转到美国去，毕竟美国虽然人才很多，但是毕竟机会也多点。 |

in recent years. Several hundreds of ppl compete for 5 positions. Some
companies go there just to do advertising without a real open position.

5月可能再考一科，但估计肯定不会说over吧。

and we consider this the most important recruiting outing throughout the
year. Where do you find a career fair that has few people and more companies
hiring that is open to public? To companies, competition is great and is
necessary. Out of those several hundred people, there might just be 20 that
fits company's hiring need.

Of course it is good for companies! The more ppl competing, the better.
But from actuarial students' perspective, it might be a good place to
practice communication skills, but definitely not a very good
opportunity to land a job.
I just want to let ppl know that it is no different from other career
fairs, just a normal one. Don't put too much hope on it.
Also, I hate those companies that go there just to send out their
company introduction book and tell you there is no position right now
and ask you to visit their website and submit your resume online. Such a
waste of time!
