fangirls from time to time.
I have to say today, at the price point of $499, Apple has released
a killer consumer device. This is not a niche product like those Tablet PCs
or Apple Macbook/Macbook Pros. It has the potential to go into every
family. This is a big surprise to me - Apple never attempted to design
for the mainstream market at an affordable price since the original
Apple II and the Apple Machintosh in 1984.

at this price point. I assume the profit margin of iPad will be quite
low at the beginning. This is the point.
In addition, iPad is a close platform, but not as close as razors or video
game consoles. Most people will buy iPad, use the web browsing/email/photo
function, but only buy things like video/book/apps now and then (or even
never).
