announced its battery replacement program for the device. The best part of
it is that for the $99 replacement service and $7 shipping fee you basically
get an as-new iPad.
Once you pay the fee and arrange the replacement, Apple will give you in
return either a new iPad or a refurbished one, which in Apple's standards
basically means new.

With $99 AppleCare for iPad, it is two years. And "Service coverage is
available for battery depletion of 50 percent or more from the original
specification."
If no manufacturing defect, the battery should last around 300-500 charging
cycles before degradation. For most user it would be over 2 years. Thus, it
is a matter of whether you want the AppleCare or not.

the cool part is by paying $99, apple will give you a new ipad instead of
swap out the battery..

for $99
applecare covers defect unit for 1 more year
battery replacement program gives u a new ipad without time constrain, as
long as old unit is functional

If you have AppleCare, you don't need the battery replacement program.
And they cost the same. AppleCare also cover other defects after 1 year
warranty is up.
Under AppleCare, if battery died, Apple is also most likely just give you a
different iPad, just like iPod or iPhone.

apple store replacement program. need someway to "format" it??
but battery change only 99 is really good price..

replaced, it will be wonderful.
