subscription separately outside of the app, that same subscription offer
must be made available, at the same price or less, to customers who wish to
subscribe from within the app. In
Netflix,Amazon Kindle,Nook Reader, etc |
w******s 发帖数: 16209 | 2 this is a joke if they force no outside subscription allowed.
for thos subscription surcharge, 30% is rediculous.
allow both web subscription and iphone subscription looks much better, it is
still very bad. |
a***y 发帖数: 19743 | 3 I think they just wanted to be consistent
but 30% is a little too much
some subcription service may not have 30% margin
but let's be honest
this is bad only for third party developer and media
the terms are very pro-consumer and of course pro-Apple
is

w******s 发帖数: 16209 | 4 why you think it is good for consumer?
that means consumer need to pay more every month for the content.
apple need to lower this percentage for rsubscription service surcharge.

and publisher wont get your personal data and sell them for ads or send you
junk mails.
Apple has 100% rights to ask for split for stuff sold through App Store.
just like you can't just put your stuff in walmart and sell it without
paying walmart.
The only issue is that Apple demands no bypassing App Store. if your app is
selling subscription, you have to include in-app subscription along with out
-of-app paying mechanism. apple is betting customers would prefer in-app
subscription. and they will take the cut.
it is steep, 30%, but without Apple making the whole ecosystem, the platform
, the devices, the SDK, these publishers won't make much money by themselves
anyway

few buttons. traditional often requires phone call. such as Real Superpass.

App

you
Convenience is moot when there is no content because the providers/
distributors cannot afford it.
It's money grab, pure and simple.
I am not sure Apple has 100% rights. But even if they did, it doesn't mean
this is a wise move. Pretty insanely greedy, I would say.
I am anxious to see how Amazon and Netflix would respond.

Sure. What's your point? Are you threatening content providers who want to
pull out?
and them too?

Just look at what facebook does. Zygna becomes billion dollar company just
because of facebook. And facebook becomes even stronger because of Zygna.
This is the trend. Apple is going to die because it's against the trend, no
matter how strong it is now.
