minivans from the 2003 and 2004 model years due to airbag problems.
Also being recalled are 56,000 2003 Acura MDX crossover SUVs.
As has been seen in a rash of recent recalls from several automakers, the
problems focus on the airbags. In this case, there's a fear they can inflate
unexpectedly -- not in a crash as designed -- due to electrical
interference.
The fix is easy enough. Honda technicians will install an electrical noise
filter adjacent to the airbag control unit.
The latest recall is the second for the Odyssey involving airbags. In 2011,
the 2003 Odyssey minivan was added to a massive recall to replace the
inflators on the driver's side. It also was recalled separately for ignition
switch problems and an automatic transmission issue, according to the
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's database. | A***n
