not yet. you don't have to if you mostly do overnight charging, the
difference between 3.5 vs 10 hours is insignificant if you leave it
overnight.
The only thing I found an L2 charger can be useful is for pre-heating the
car in cold weather. If I preheat the car 20 min before leaving and the car
is connected to an L1 charger, you will lose about 0.5kWh because the
L1 charging is not fast enough to replenish the consumed power. So I
have to start it 40 min before leaving, but then I enter the cabin, I don't
feel warm enough.

you sill need to buy an EVSE that supports 240V. the in-car one only works
for 110V and won't connect to a 240V socket.
popular 240V EVSE on gm-volt forum include Clipper Creek and TurboCord.

they are not exactly cheap.
call your utility company, some of them, like mine, offer 50% rebate for the
installation cost.
