unless you are really a fan of toyota, I don't see any reason to spend $25k
for a base Gen2 PiP than paying $16k, like the guy below, for a premium trim
Gen 1 Volt (if you can still find one).

the Gen 1 volt has twice of the range, twice more powerful electric engine (
120kW vs 66.2kW peak output), heavier body and, in my personal view, better
look.
It also looks like the 22 mi AER of the Gen2 PiP is conditional (like the
Gen1 PiP, the gas engine can kick in any time within 22 miles when the car
needs faster acceleration). That's why the official AER only lists 6 miles
instead of 11 for Gen1 PiP.

In comparison, the Volt's AER is pure electric at all speed (unless ERDTT
kicks in when below -10 C).

those numbers are exaggerated because it was based on the Japanese JC08
cycle test. these numbers are typically much higher (almost 2x) than US EPA
test. The EPA rating is considered more realistic.
one example, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV claims to have a 60km/37.5mi AER
based on the JC08 test, but it's EPA rating is only expected to be ~25 miles

another example, Nissan Leaf 2013 has a JC08 rating of 228 km (141 miles),
but it's EPA rating is only 75 mi, almost half.

发帖数: 26623 | 13 油那么便宜,开长途电车优势不大,22迈续航其实正好.
短途发动机还没热就到了,hybrid的效率相对纯电低很多,所以需要充电.
