Here is the meaning of some important percentage stats:
BA: Batting Average, H/AB, the most common used stat but maybe the least
useful among these stats. Well, it's useful to generate publicity and your
access to HOF, maybe. Some ppl think high BA means good contact, but that's
not true. Many player with tons of whiffs can still generate high BA anyway.
SecA: Secondary Average, (TB-H+SB-CS+BB)/AB, this is a good supplement to BA.

who can steal is a good plus, but stealing bases itself does not justify a
player's value. Actually, if you don't have a SB% over 75%, you are doing harm
to the team. Even you have a SB% higher than that, SB itself contributes very
little to the team's production.
