他又不是什么落魄老将没人要被红袜低薪捡便宜。新秀合同就那样，说起来
红袜还对他有培养之恩。倒是他为了点钱就投奔死敌，不嘘他就没天理了。

这个六年的合同基本上cover 3 arbitration eligible years + 3 FA years.
If Angels decide to go along the route of arbitration, the records for 1st,
2nd, and 3rd year of arbitration eligible players are:
1st year, Ryan Howard, 10M
2nd year, Miguel Cabrera, 11.3 M
3rd year, Mark Teixeira, 12.5 M
No doubt that Trout will break these records if he goes to arbitration.
Assuming he gets a 20% increase, we are looking at about 40 M dollars for 3
years.
Then the next 3 FA years is 104 M. We are talking about 35 M per. This is a
huge contract for him.

10 year contracts seem to be the norm... I have to think that Trout and his
agent believe that he will get another huge contract when thsi ends.
no, there is normally no perforamnce clause in guaranteeed contracts.
however, there could be bonuses. I guess teams are willing to pay the bonus
money. :)
