Biography[edit]
Yuki Togashi was born in Niigata Prefecture, Japan.[1] He attended high
school at Montrose Christian School in the United States, a school known for
developing basketball talent, and graduated in three years.[2][3] He
returned to Japan after not being offered a scholarship by an NCAA Division
I basketball program, and in 2013, at the age of 19, he joined the Japanese
bj league's Akita Northern Happinets.[3] In his first full season with the
Happinets, Togashi led the bj league in minutes played (1,895) and assists
per game (7.9 per game).[1][4] He became the youngest player to be named to
the bj league's Best Five Team, and was named the MVP of the league's All-
Star Game, held in January 2014.[5]
In July 2014, Togashi was invited to play for the Dallas Mavericks during
the NBA Summer League,[1] where he became a fan favorite. Yuki was the
shortest player in the summer league at 5'7[2][6][7]
