Research technologist at the National Institute of Health (NIH)
We are seeking a full-time research technologist at the NIH. Located in
Bethesda just west of Washington D.C., NIH is one of the world's foremost
medical research centers.
You will be joining a team interested in studying human consciousness. You
will be involved in conducting EEG/MEG (encephalography/
magnetoencephalography) experiments on normal human volunteers, and
conducting cognitive experiments with patients undergoing intracranial EEG
monitoring. You will also carry out some brain stimulation experiments to
modulate brain activity and see its effect on behavior and awareness.
The ideal candidate meets the following criteria:
* can pick up new skills quickly;
* has some computer programming experience, is comfortable with relatively
sophisticated computer data analysis;
* statistical and/or psychological background is a plus;
* has excellent communication and managerial skills (experiments involve
working with human subjects);
* is passionate about science.
* can stay in this position for a minimum of 2 years, preferably longer.
